In Ghost of Tsushima, using the right combination of armor and charms for each situation can give players a massive advantage, so much so that many players find themselves switching out Jin's armor loadouts frequently. While most of the armor in the game provides bonuses that support a specific playstyle, the Fundoshi is very limited in its effects.

The Fundoshi is one of the last armor sets that players will be able to get, as it only becomes available during Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima. Despite this, it is also one of the weakest in terms of combat bonuses, and its single benefit only affects stealth in a minor way.

To top it all off, this armor doesn't make Jin look like a valiant Samurai or even a mysterious Ninja. Instead, it puts him in his undergarments, making the hero look more like he's about to go take a bath rather than repel the mongol invasion and save Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima Fundoshi Armor

Unlocking the Fundoshi "armor" requires players to rest at all of the 18 hot springs found throughout Tsushima. Since there are a few of these located Ghost of Tsushima's final act, players won't be able to track this armor down until they've gotten at least that far. All total, there are nine hot springs in Act 1, six hot springs in Act 2, and three hot springs in Act 3 that the player must find and rest in. Though this may seem daunting, there is an incredibly easy in game solution to finding all of these.

Players can spend a technique point to allow the guiding wind to lead them to the nearest hot spring, and this is by far the easiest way to get the armor. It may require a lot of riding around Tsushima for a bit, but it will be well worth the effort even just for the health boosts that Ghost of Tsushima's hot springs provide. Additionally, after obtaining the armor, players can wear it to completely silence their running and sprinting, allowing them to sneak up on enemies at full speed, potentially making clearing a camp with stealth much faster. Of course, the armor doesn't provide any bonuses to detection speed or anything like that, so players will still need to be cautious.

This could also be fun for challenge runs, especially if Sucker Punch adds a New Game + mode to Ghost of Tsushima. Playing through the game in a Fundoshi would certainly be quite the challenge.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively on PS4.
