Just yesterday, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint leaked ahead of its official world premiere, with an image of a Wolves Collector's Edition surfacing online to reveal its contents and confirm the newest game in the franchise. Now, Ubisoft has decided to release an official announcement trailer that not only gives fans of the series a somewhat better idea of what the game will be about, but also the confirmation of its October 4, 2019 release date for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is set on the fictional archipelago of Auroa in the Pacific Ocean, with the islands being a private compound owned by Jace Skell—the CEO of Skell Technology, which is a company specializing in drones and artificial intelligence. Breakpoint will be a followup to 2015's Wildlands, and will allow for full 4-player co-op with stealth-action occurring throughout its open world setting.

There will be some new features coming to the series by way of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint as well, which includes dialogue choices, new survival elements, an extensive class system, multiple endings, and a whole lot more. Additionally, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will feature raids, which is going to be a franchise-first for the tactical-shooter brand.

On top of all of the fresh features coming to the IP with the next entry, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will have multiple endings in order to give the title an additional bit of replay value. As of now, though, Ghost Recon creative director Eric Couzian, hasn't confirmed how many multiple endings there will be, as he simply teased that "there is not only one".

All things considered, it will be interesting to see how Ghost Recon fans respond to Breakpoint when it releases later this year, and if it lives up to, or perhaps even exceeds the expectations set by its predecessor in Wildlands. Whatever the case may be insofar as its reception is concerned, it looks as if Ubisoft is confident in its abilities to succeed. As it so happens, the publisher and developer already has plans to support the title for the long haul, with Ghost Recon: Breakpoint apparently having big post-launch DLC plans.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is scheduled to launch on October 4, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
