Shrines in Ghost of Tsushima are one of the main ways to obtain powerful charms for Jin’s loadout. Each one functions as a puzzle, requiring players to figure out the correct path to take to reach the goal.
The Marsh Rock Shrine is found in the Akashima Prefecture of the Toyotama region during Act 2. It’s located directly north of the Akashima Village, the first major settlement after the Golden Temple. Figuring out the trick to this Shrine demands keen eyesight more than actual wits.

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PC Review
The critically-acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima has made its way to PC with a few updates, and through that, it once again cements itself as a genre great.
How to Solve Marsh Rock Shrine in Ghost of Tsushima
The Marsh Rock Shrine only has one entrance, marked by large stone Torii Gates. Enter, and you’ll find the stairs leading upward burned down to the ground. Here is what you need to do to reach the top:
- Turn right and follow the route marked by the white flowers. There will be multiple stone lanterns ‘Toro’ on the sides, showing the way ahead.
- When the path stops at a dead-end, look for the last stone lantern. There will be a climbing spot right next to it, hidden underneath the leaves.
- Climb the ledge and shimmy left to the next platform.
- Jump the gap and use the Iron Hook to swing over to the next section of the Shrine.
- Another stone shrine on an elevated stone platform will show the path that leads upward.
- Squeeze through the gap and jump down to the next section.
- At the next dead-end, the last stone lantern is facing another climbing spot. Use it to climb above.
- Jump over the next gap and use the grappling hook again to reach the ledge on the far side.
- Make sure to hold the jump button after letting go of the rope to avoid falling down.
- Move left to reach the last platform, and the Mending Rock Shrine will be to the right.
- Interact with the Shrine to obtain the Charm of Izanami.
A golden bird may appear in the middle of the Shrine, but it doesn’t actually show the path players need to take to solve the puzzle.
The Charm of Izanami makes it so whenever Iron Will triggers—the technique that lets Jin resurrect from the dead in exchange for resolve—he revives with 50% of his HP instead of just 10%. This charm is of limited usability as, ideally, Jin shouldn’t be dying in the first place.
