Ghost of Tsushima is highly anticipated and the teasers of the game only increased fan excitement. The latest gameplay trailer for Ghost of Tsushima gave players an idea of what to expect and the director of the game, Nate Fox, has added clarity to the display in a recent interview. It seems that the game has even more to offer players than what was shown in the compelling gameplay footage.

The game is set in 13th century Japan and breaks the usual mold of games from the developer Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch is largely known for the well-received Infamous franchise which allowed players to explore an open-world only in a completely different setting. In an interview, Nate Fox revealed that that Ghost of Tsushima won't only be a different setting but a much larger open-world than the developer has previously produced.

Fox explained, "The map we showed during the State of Play was VERY zoomed in" and continued "that was just a little portion of the starting area, the actual map is huge." The director of Ghost of Tsushima later unpacked this with a comparison to Infamous stating that the game is bigger than anything the developer had produced. This interview also touched on several interesting topics including the fact that the main story content had yet to be revealed and that the gameplay demonstration showed a side mission. The scope of this world will likely excite fans who have been impressed by the gameplay and the unique mechanics that are set to feature in the game.

Fox also described the environment in the game which seems to be hugely varied, "Tsushima Island covers the biomes you can find on mainland Japan, from snowy mountains to bamboo forests, to waterfalls and rolling grasslands, it’s all there." With this in mind, it seems that the game will deliver not only a unique experience in comparison to its competition but also to the previous titles of Sucker Punch. Many have been looking forward to the open-world of Ghost of Tsushima and it seems that it will give players plenty to explore.

There have been bold statements from respected members of the gaming community in regards to Ghost of Tsushima and the gameplay footage seems to live up to the buzz around the title. With this interview, gameplay footage, and the size of the map in mind, Ghost of Tsushima may be a huge hit when players can finally explore the creation from Sucker Punch.

Ghost of Tsushima launches on July 17, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
