All of the Mythic Tales in Ghost of Tsushima provide both Jin and the player with valuable items or skills, but "The Heavenly Strike" is by far one of the most satisfying techniques to use. When implemented properly, this attack can deal major damage, but getting it is no easy feat.

There are seven Mythic Tales in Ghost of Tsushima, and each is given to the player by a musician in a specific town. "The Heavenly Strike" is a Mythic Tale which grants the Heavenly Strike ability to the player. These Mythic Tales are usually pretty challenging, but well worth the effort.

In order to get "The Heavenly Strike" Mythic Tale, the player must first have completed "Hammer and Forge." This is the sixth main quest in the first Act of Ghost of Tsushimaso it shouldn't take terribly long for players to reach this point. From here, seek out the musician near River Falls Bridge.

Yasuhira Koga Heavenly Strike Boss Fight Ghost of Tsushima

This quest will take players on a journey to find a white leafed tree, and it will be fraught with danger. After some mild platforming and battles with minor enemies, Yasuhira Koga will challenge the player to a dual. This fight can be incredibly challenging, as he deals massive damage if the player is undergeared or unprepared. Whenever Koga sheaths his sword, he is preparing to unleash the self same Heavenly Strike on Jin that players are trying to learn, so keep in mind that this attack is unblockable and must instead be avoided.

After defeating Koga, the player will gain access to the Mythic skill Heavenly Strike. Like Koga's rendition of it, this attack is unblockable, meaning it can be great to break through the defenses of enemies. More importantly, though, it does extra damage to staggered enemies. When paired with the Gosaku armor set which increases stagger damage and heals the player after killing a staggered enemy, this move can be absolutely devastating. Since it can be used to either pressure blocking enemies or punish staggered ones, it is a very versatile option in many combat encounters.

Of course, it isn't without its drawbacks. In order to use this attack, the player must expend Resolve, the same resource they use to heal themselves. Running out of Resolve makes Ghost of Tsushima much more difficult, so this makes the use of this technique a sort of risk reward scenario, and it should be saved for moments where it will be incredibly effective.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively for PS4.
