The Curse of Uchitsune is a Mythic Tale quest in Ghost of Tsushima that awards players a brand new ranged weapon, the Longbow. Unlike the Half-Bow, which players unlock during the course of the main story, the Longbow performs best at extremely long ranges when the distance between Jin and his enemies is considerable.

The Curse of Uchitsune Mythic Tale is available very early on during Act 1. The quest involves figuring out the whereabouts of the legendary cursed bow of Uchitsune using vague hints and contextual clues.

How To Start The Curse Of Uchitsune Mythic Tale In Ghost Of Tsushima

The quest giver for The Curse of Uchitsune, Yamato the musician, is located in the Hiyoshi Springs, in the central part of Izuhara. Players will naturally visit the Hiyoshi Springs during the Tale of Sensei Ishikawa, one of the main story missions.

If players listen to a rumor about a musician in Hiyoshi Springs from one of the peasants in a Survivor Camp, the location for the quest will be marked on the map.

Following golden birds will also lead players to the musician if they are nearby.

Search The Hiyoshi Coast For Blue Flowers

During the introduction, Yamato will give Jin a clue to the whereabouts of Uchitsune’s bow: a field of blue flowers near the Hiyoshi Coast. To find it, follow the quest marker and head east toward the sea.

Look for patches of blue flowers growing in the bamboo forest as you head east. Following them leads players to a stone outcropping with a large tree on top and a field of blue flowers surrounding it. There is an entrance below the tree. Use it to enter the cave. Interact with the banner next to the tomb to get a clear map pointing to the next clue.

Search Hiyoshi For The Island

The island with Uchitsune’s Longbow is located to the north, near the Mending Rock Shrine (Charm of Okuninushi). Hug the coast while heading north, and you’ll come across patches of blue flowers growing in the grass fields, indicating you’re heading in the right direction. The island’s exact location is shown in the screenshot above.

Head inside the cave entrance and interact with the second banner to get a new painting showing the final location of the Longbow: a mountain surrounded by blue flowers.

Search Hiyoshi For The Mountain

In the painting, players will see a path lined on either side by blue flowers on top of a mountain with yellow trees in the background. The yellow trees are the signature of the Ariake prefecture, directly south of Hiyoshi.

Considering this, the location shown in the painting is on top of a mountain overlooking Ariake. The only mountain in Hiyoshi that meets the description is located directly west of Hiyoshi Springs, north of Yoichi’s Slope.

To reach this location, fast travel to Sensei Ishikawa’s Dojo and take the road going south. It will lead players directly to the mountain valley. Follow the path to the shrine and interact with the Longbow to trigger the final fight of the mission.

How To Beat The Tengu Demon Boss Fight

Dodging is incredibly important here. The Tengu Demon performs several unblockable red attacks with no telegraphed movements, giving players very little time to react properly if they are also looking to parry.

Relying on consistent dodges and dealing little chunks of damage from light attacks is the easiest way of beating him.

If you’re having difficulty taking down the health bar, increasing the difficulty to Lethal may actually help make the fight easier, as doing so will allow each of Jin’s hits to deal more damage. Of course, Jin will also take more damage in return, but it’s a worthwhile alternative to the slogfest that the fight becomes at lower difficulties.
