Can You Skip Cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima?

GoT-Skip-Cutscene-2

The short answer is yes, you can skip cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima. However, this feature comes with a very important caveat: you can only skip cutscenes in New Game Plus. This means that there is currently no way to bypass any scene during your first playthrough of the main story, side quests – anything that features a cinematic cutscene. While this is a standard feature of many games, it seems that Sucker Punch wanted players to experience Jin's story in its entirety during their initial playthrough of Ghost of Tsushima.

  • You cannot skip cutscenes during your initial playthrough of Ghost of Tsushima.
  • Once you begin New Game Plus, cutscene skipping will become available.

Ghost of Tsushima is now available on PC . Should players find a way to add a skip feature through modding, or if Sucker Punch eventually adds this feature at a later date, this guide will be updated to reflect it.

How to Skip Cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima

Once players have completed their initial playthrough, they will have the ability to begin New Game Plus. This option is found on the main title menu, allowing players to pick the save file they wish to carry over, and begin a new game with nearly all the items they collected in their first playthrough. It is in this game mode that players will have access to the skip function.

Players will first notice that NG+ skips the entire prologue, starting instead with Jin's iconic ride through the pampas grass. There are some cutscenes, like this opening sequence, that Jin cannot skip. These are extremely rare, and deal only with the most important sections of the game.

To skip a cutscene in GoT's NG+, simply press x during the scene you wish to skip. At the top of the screen, a prompt will be displayed which tels you to 'hold x to skip cutscene.' This function will be available in nearly every cutscene in Ghost of Tsushima.
