Ghost of Tsushima offers players four different stances which they can switch between, each excelling at handling a different type of enemy. These are the Stone, Water, Wind, and Moon stances, but there is a secret fifth stance which players unlock during the second act of the game called the Ghost Stance that is incredibly powerful. Note that this post will have some Ghost of Tsushima spoilers.

Jin Sakai goes through a lot of change during his efforts to repel the Mongol invasion, falling from an honorable Samurai and becoming the titular Ghost of Tsushima. One of the major turning points in the story is when Jin helps the people of Yarikawa withstand the Mongol siege and ultimately resorts to absolutely brutal tactics, embracing his role as the Ghost and unlocking the Ghost Stance.

Ghost Stance is incredibly powerful, allowing Jin to instantly kill multiple enemies with his next few attacks, but it is equally difficult to activate. Players either need to slaughter a Mongol leader or get seven kills in a row without taking damage in between in order to access this stance, but this method allows the player to start every fight in Ghost Stance.

There are two main things the player needs to achieve this build, both of which are attainable during the second of Ghost of Tsushima's three acts. The Sakai Clan Armor is obtained as part of the main quest early on in Act 2, and once fully upgraded increases the player's standoff streak count by two. The Ghost Armor is also obtained as part of the main story, but is a reward at the very end of Act 2, and its most notable ability reduces the requirement from seven kills to five kills without damage to enter Ghost Stance.

If the player has obtained all the standoff techniques, they will already be able to strike down three enemies with a standoff, and equipping the Sakai Clan Armor will then enable them to kill five enemies in one standoff. All the player needs to do is start a battle with a standoff while wearing the Sakai Clan Armor, get those five kills, and then switch to the Ghost Armor immediately after. This will enable the player to instantly kill a number of enemies beyond those initial five.

Of course, switching armor all the time can be a pain, making this one of many reasons that Ghost of Tsushima would benefit from armor loadouts that allow players to save different presets of gear. Nonetheless, this is an incredibly effective strategy for defeating a large number of enemies with minimal effort.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively on PS4.
