Ghost Of Tsushima: 11 Best Side Missions, Ranked

Ghost of Tsushima has some truly beautiful side missions that are a must-play for those exploring Tsushima and Iki Island.

Luckily, the game has now been released on PC, so anyone with a mid-range build or higher can finally experience this title in all its glory, albeit 4 years later. Here are 5 ways Ghost of Tsushima is different on PC.

5 Superior Graphics

Unmatched Detail

  • Higher texture resolution
  • DLSS, and FSR

Although Ghost of Tsushima already looked great on the PS4 and PS5, it's undeniable that any game will always look better on PC, especially on high-end rigs, as they have more hardware to maximize graphics potential. Right out of the gate, the game looks more polished and better texturized than it did on the console version. Environments are less blurry, character skin details are more evident, and even shadows and fire effects appear more realistic.

Granted, only those players with the most powerful GPUs (4080 and up) will be able to experience the game in all its glory at 4K without too much tweaking. But even when reducing certain effects' quality, the overall look far exceeds what was available on console versions.

4 Higher FPS

Smooth and Steady

  • Smoother response in combat
  • Improved immersion while riding

There's a reason competitive gamers prefer gaming monitors with the highest refresh rate possible: responsiveness. Playing at higher frames per second typically gives an edge during combat, as movement is more fluid. This allows for improved attack prediction and countering. While Ghost of Tsushima won't run at +200 FPS like Overwatch or Apex Legends can at lower resolutions, with proper optimization and the right rig, the PC version can easily reach 120 FPS, as opposed to the 60 FPS cap on the PS5.

6 Best Aspects Of Ghost Of Tsushima On PC

One of the most anticipated PlayStation PC ports has finally been released, and it meets almost all of fans' expectations.

Not to mention that the console version of the game had to adapt dynamic resolution rendering to maintain 60 FPS, whereas the PC version can do so at a steady resolution. This is not to say that consoles are bad. After all, they cost about an eighth of the price of a high-end PC, so they pack a great punch considering their value-to-performance ratio.

3 Mods

Endless Possibilities

  • Aesthetic and functional
  • Enhanced experience

Mods are nothing new when it comes to PC titles. And while some games take more advantage of them than others, they can arguably make any title feel brand-new and more exciting. Naturally, before the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima was released, mods weren't possible; however, now that it's been released, developers have wasted no time to create hundreds of them.

From anti-stutter performance-enhancing mods to graphic improvements (which the game doesn't really seem to need), there's an endless world of possibilities for players who love Ghost of Tsushima and modding.

2 Foliage Density

A Touch Of Realism

  • Increased foliage resolution and density
  • Improved rendering at further distances

One of the most beautiful aspects of Ghost of Tsushima is the way it incorporates wind into the story and how it interacts with foliage and other environmental elements. Although the console versions take decent advantage of this environmental element, they can't seem to handle a lot of it, resulting in lower foliage resolution and density.

Luckily, mid-end PCs and higher don't seem to have any issues rendering foliage, even at further distances, where the console version seems to struggle. Sure, subpar foliage rendering won't make or break the game, but for players who can maximize the graphical capabilities of this title, it's highly recommended that they stop, enjoy the hyperrealism, and look at the flowers.

1 Advanced Settings

Adjusting And Tweaking For The Best Experience

  • Greater control over graphics
  • Nearly-endless possibilities for optimization

Modern consoles are extremely well-optimized to deliver the best graphics while ensuring proper performance. With the introduction of "Graphics" and "Performance" modes on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, players were given more control over their preferred visual experience, and further updates may keep building on this. However, to this day, said console settings still pale in comparison to the customization possibilities on modern PCs.

The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima allows players to tweak several graphics settings, such as Texture/Shadow Quality, Terrain Detail, Screen Space Reflections, Volumetric Fog, upscaling method, and much more. With this level of control, even players with older PC specs can tweak their game's settings to get a stunning visual experience without sacrificing too many FPS.
