Can You Beat Khotun Khan at the Beginning of Ghost of Tsushima?

Ghost of Tsushima's first boss fight isn't going to go the way that players, or Jin Sakai, think it will, as they face off against Khotun Khan.

Listed below, players can find some very important locations in Ghost of Tsushima to discover first, as these areas are prizes and rewards that will grant players additional upgrades before they head out to save Lord Shimura and eliminate Khotan Khan for good.

8 Kechi Fishing Village

A Small Village Near To Yuna’s Tale

Whilst there is nothing particularly special about the Kechi Fishing Village, players can still venture through to see survivors of the Mongol invasion, resilient to their oppressors as they try to live in some level of normalcy. Yet, just a tad South of this location is where they can first find Yuna and her first Tsushima Tale.

Players should complete this mission first, as this will unlock the ability to assassinate enemies. This will be extremely useful going forward, as although it is considered dishonorable, it allows Jin to use stealth more efficiently, rather than charging head first into danger.

7 Golden Summit Shrine

Unlock The Charm Of Amaterasu

South of Golden Temple, players can find the Golden Summit Shrine, a location with much adoration and respect, which will need to be climbed by Jin Sakai to reach the top. Upon climbing, players will not only familiarise themselves with the mechanics, but they will also find a great reward thanks to the major charm they discover at the top.

17 Samurai Games To Play If You Love Ghost Of Tsushima

Sucker Punch's Ghost Of Tsushima transports players to the action-packed world of Feudal Japan. Samurai fans should check out these games as well.

This major charm is known as the Charm of Amaterasu, and players can equip it to see themselves earn a moderate amount of health when they defeat an enemy. This is great for new players, who will ensure that in each fight, they will have health rewarded to them per elimination of weaker foes.

6 Golden Leaf Hot Spring

Unlock More Permanent Health

Hot Springs are found in abundance around Tsushima, and one is directly East of the Golden Temple. At this Hot Spring, players will not only discover the peaceful mountain view of the ocean and mainland in the distance but a tranquil place where they can bathe and reflect on the journey so far.

Entering the Hot Spring will not only see a more intimate side to Jin, both physical and emotional, but they will increase their health pool permanently. The more Hot Springs players discover early, the better, as it means they can take more hits within intense fights.

5 Mountain View Hot Spring

Unlock Even More Permanent Health

Another location just South of the Golden Temple is the Mountain View Hot Spring, a peaceful location where Jin can once again strip down to enjoy the soothingly warm waters, and see his health rise once more.

The location itself is simply beautiful, whether players come here at dusk or dawn, they are going to be amazed by the views, seeing the mountains in the distance, and the abundance of trees and nature that surrounds them. It’s a great break from the action, and more health is always nice.

4 Hiyoshi Springs

A Peaceful Inn With Merchants, Bamboo Strikes, & Hot Springs

Located a few miles North of the Golden Temple, players can find one of the most tranquil places in all of Tsushima. Stumbling upon the Hiyoshi Springs, players will never want to leave, as it’s a beautiful escape from the Mongol invasion, and somewhere they can put aside their katana and truly relax for a while.

There are plenty of activities here, such as the Bamboo Strike for their Resolve, and a Hot Spring for their health. There’s also the addition of Tsushima Tales and Mythic Tales, and to those who seek a greater challenge, there’s the Legends Storyteller, who players can access to enter the online mode.

3 Arrow Peak Shrine

Unlocks The Charm of Inari

This shrine is also a rather challenging climb, but well worth it due to the reward, and the simple fact that players will once again be able to learn the climbing mechanics that they will face throughout Ghost of Tsushima.

Should You Play Ghost of Tsushima in Japanese or English?

Ghost of Tsushima is available on PC now, and people are wondering which VO language option to use: English or Japanese.

The charm they receive at the top of this shrine is grand, especially early on, as it will increase the Supplies, Predator Hides, Bamboo, and Yew Wood that they discover when collecting and scavenging, meaning they will have to do less purchasing from merchants, and they can even do more selling.

2 Golden Temple

Upgrade Weapons, Armor, & Ranged Weapons

There is much beauty to be found at the Golden Temple, an easily accessible location right from the start of the game. As players venture here, they will be enamored by the golden leaves that fall delicately from the trees above, providing an intense beauty, especially during sunsets.

This area is like a haven for those seeking refuge in Tsushima, and as Jin walks through this area, he will find a few characters that can aid him, like the Gift Altar, Bowyer, Swordsmith, and Armorer. These merchants are vital to Jin’s upgrades for his weaponry, and getting here early means players can see what materials they need for the upgrades they seek.

1 Komatsu Forge

Plenty Of Merchants & A Bamboo Strike

One of the first locations that players will discover if they venture to the West side of Tsushima is the Komatsu Forge. This location is grand in scale, even if it’s not the most attractive of locations due to the ravished nature of the Mongol invasion passing through. However, despite all this, there is freedom here, and plenty of reward.

Players will discover a few Tsushima Tales at this location, as well as plenty of merchants. However, the real show stealer is the Komatsu Bamboo Strike, which, when completed, will provide players with a permanent increase to their Resolve.
