Highlights

  • Genshin Impact's 4.7 update brings new and rerun characters, but fans may not be happy with the lineup.
  • Alhaitham and Furina are returning in Event Wish Banners, but other long-awaited characters are missing out.
  • Some argue that characters like Shenhe deserve a rerun over Alhaitham and Furina in version 4.7.

Genshin Impact’s 4.7 will soon be released on June 5, 2024, bringing a standard mix of new content to the game, notably including new and rerun characters in the Event Wish Banners. While new characters coming to Genshin Impact are almost always a well-received element of each new update to the game, the rerun characters anticipated for version 4.7 may not live up to all fans' expectations.

As Genshin Impact’s character roster continues to grow, it can be difficult for players to unlock any one specific character, as the main source of unlocking characters is when these characters are featured in the rotating Event Wish Banners. While this is a typical problem that most gacha games inevitably encounter, Genshin Impact’s version 4.7 update will arguably serve as a reminder of how frustrating this can be.

Genshin Impact’s Leaked 4.7 Event Wish Banner 5-Star Characters

At the time of writing, most of the featured 4-star characters in Genshin Impact’s version 4.7 Event Wish Banners are unknown, aside from the new character Sethos, who is expected to arrive throughout this update. Meanwhile, leaks from reliable sources have already revealed the 5-star characters coming in both phases of this update ahead of its release. Allegedly, the featured 5-star characters coming in version 4.7 will be:

  • Clorinde (Phase 1)
  • Alhaitham (Phase 1)
  • Sigewinne (Phase 2)
  • Furina (Phase 2)

If the leaks are true, Alhaitham and Furina will have reruns in the Event Wish Banners in Genshin Impact’s upcoming 4.7 update. Alhaitham and Furina can be valuable members of any team composition, so their reruns in the version 4.7 update will be good news for players who want another chance to unlock these characters or their character constellation upgrades.

However, this will likely be a bittersweet moment for fans who expected other long-awaited character reruns in the Event Wish Banners for this update. While Alhaitham and Furina are arguably great characters to have, there are plenty of other 5-star characters in Genshin Impact’s roster who are long overdue for a rerun banner that the 4.7 Event Wish Banners could have featured instead.

This is a common occurrence in Genshin Impact that as the game’s roster grows, certain characters can go a long time without ever having a rerun, leading to frustration among the game’s community for players who want to obtain these characters or their character constellation upgrades. Consequently, the 5-star characters that have gone the longest without receiving a rerun are generally the ones who most deserve a rerun compared to other characters, though this isn’t always the case.

5-Star Characters That Deserve a Rerun in Genshin Impact

As of the current version 4.6 update, some of the 5-star characters have gone the longest without being featured in an Event Wish Banner, the Standard Wish Banner, or the recent Chronicled Wish Banner. They include Shenhe, Nilou, Ganyu, and Kokomi:

Character:Last Rerun:
ShenheMarch 21, 2023
NilouApril 12, 2023
GanyuMay 2, 2023
KokomiJuly 25, 2023

Even though Alhaitham and Furina are both powerful characters, this doesn’t necessarily mean they deserve to take priority over some of the other highly requested character reruns in the Event Wish Banners. Considering that Shenhe has gone over a year without a recent rerun, the case can be made that Shenhe or other characters deserved a rerun in the version 4.7 Event Wish Banners, instead of Alhaitham and Furina.
