Highlights

  • Kaedehara Kazuha is a versatile character in Genshin Impact who can fit into any team composition without any drawbacks.
  • His kit includes useful skills like a plunging attack that does Anemo/Swirl damage and an elemental skill that is great for crowd control.
  • To maximize Kazuha's potential, players should focus on increasing his Elemental Mastery (EM) to boost his elemental damage bonus for teammates. Building him as a support with triple EM artifacts is common, but hybrid or crit builds can also be effective.

Last seen in a rerun banner in June and July, Kaedehara Kazuha is one of the most meta characters in Genshin Impact. He is an incredibly versatile unit and can be slotted into just about any team with no repercussions, as regardless of whether players need a sub DPS, a support in Genshin Impact , or even a proper DPS,t he could work. He is very comfortable for players to use, and though at first his kit seems like something players should be very particular about, he is easy to understand.

With so many different build options though, there comes the downside of not knowing which way to build him. He can do so much, so it is worth looking at where he performs the best and where players can bend and tweak his build to their personal liking to get the most fun out of him. Breaking down his kit in simple terms can make it easier for players to choose how they want to play the ever-flexible Kazuha.

Genshin Impact's Kaedehara Kazuha's Kit in Simple Terms

are kazuha’s constellations worth it in genshin impact

Starting off simple, the first of the three levellable talents Kazuha has is his normal attack. Usually, this can be put on the back burner for supports since it isn't where their usage comes in. However, Kazuha is a special case, as his plunging attack has a variation that is useful for him. His attack "Plunging Attack: Midare Ranzan" can be done at the end of his skill and does an instance of Anemo/Swirl damage. Swirl is what happens when Anemo comes into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Electro, or Cryo on the field.

His elemental skill, "Chihayaburu", is where his utility as a crowd control character shines. He will pull in nearby enemies when holding the skill button and do an instance of Swirl/Anemo damage. However, this Genshin Impact ability could also be used in midair when gliding around Teyvat. This is also when players could plunge for extra damage. Smaller enemies are easy to decimate with this skill, bringing a lot of Kazuha users a little bit of joy when they round up hilichurls by a campfire to Swirl them out of existence.

"Kazuha Slash" is his elemental burst and another huge asset of his kit. If it does not come into contact with any Swirl-able elements, it will do instances of Anemo damage instead. However, players can get the most use out of his burst by letting his burst swirl and using other characters who could benefit from the instances of elemental damage. The most common example of this would be a Childe international team, where players use Kazuha's burst after using a Pyro character (most often Xiangling or Bennett) and allow Childe to conduct Vaporize.

His first ascension passive, "Soumon Swordsmanship", is when his plunging attack after his skill use does Swirl damage. This effect will do 200% of his attack against the enemy, but is considered plunging attack damage and not elemental skill damage, hence why players should level his normal attack too. His second ascension passive, "Poetics of Fuubutsu", gives 0.04% elemental damage bonus to whatever element he swirls for each point of Elemental Mastery (EM) he has.

Overall, his builds will want to see a load of EM to up that elemental damage bonus that Kazuha can give his teammates. Most players will go for triple EM on their artifacts for main stats to ensure he's doing his best as a support. However, a hybrid or crit Kazuha build does still have its merit, especially now that Genshin Impact players have Faruzan as an option to be run alongside him. The most important thing to remember when building this meta unit is to have fun.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
