A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed a video featuring one of the most anticipated characters in the game named Yaoyao. HoYoverse's official announcement confirmed that she will be a new roster addition in the upcoming update 3.4, which is expected to arrive in January 2023. She has also been mentioned in dozens of leaks since the game arrived back in September 2020.

All eight character models leaked from the original beta phase have become playable characters except Yaoyao. The main reason why Genshin Impact waited such a long time to introduce Yaoyao could be that she was the only Dendro character in the beta. Dendro became a playable element a couple of updates ago with the introduction of the mysterious Sumeru region which also brought a new Archon quest line.

A new video on the popular Genshin Impact Leks subreddit reveals in-game footage featuring the new Dendro character, Yaoyao. Even though she was rumored to be a catalyst user, the video confirms that Yaoyao will carry a polearm as her primary weapon. According to previous leaks, her Elemental Skill will allow her to deploy a rabbit-like device named Yuegui, which throws out White Jade Radishes that explode upon hitting opponents, dealing Dendro damage in the process. These explosions will also heal nearby party members based on Yaoyao's max. HP.

Activating the Elemental Burst will boost Yuegui's power and cause the White Jade Radishes to apply even stronger heals. Yaoyao's burst will keep spawning these devices until three of them are on the field, and they will increase the Dendro character's movement speed and Dendro damage. Yaoyao seems to have a chaotic playstyle that allows her to run around and spawn as many Yuegui devices as possible.

Some fans in the comment section claim that she could be a great fit for team compositions that revolve around the Bloom elemental reaction, which can be triggered by combining Hydro and Dendro. At the moment, the two most important characters for this team comp are the Dendro Archon Nahida and the Hydro user Nilou.

Yaoyao could serve as the secondary Dendro user in this party since she has the potential to apply elemental damage even when she's not on the field. Even though she has a lower four-star rarity, Yaoyao could become a crucial part of parties that rely on the new element since she is the only healer in the game with a Dendro Vision.

Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
