As of Genshin Impact 2.6, Collei has never made an appearance in the game. Instead, this character is known among the community for her major role in the Genshin Impact manga. Her story reveals the cruelty the Fatui has been executing in their underground lab.
Since the release of Genshin Impact, people have been expecting Collei to be a playable character. With Sumeru coming soon, it's only a matter of time until fans discover whether or not the girl will be playable. But until players can learn more about Collei, here's everything known about her so far.
6 Collei Only Appears In The Manga
The name Collei will likely be unfamiliar to people who only play the game. However, she is actually one of the main characters in the Genshin Impact manga. The character is portrayed as a short girl with light green wavy hair. When she first appeared, she was mostly covered in bandages. People can see her full appearance after chapter 15 of the manga.
Even though Collei did not yet appear in Genshin Impact, people who read the Cat's Tail Message Board may notice a message that talks about a "strange girl wrapped in bandages." This is a reference to Collei when she visited Mondstadt during the Ludi Harpastum.
5 Collei Was Taken For Fatui Experiment
By now, it is almost public knowledge that the Fatui is taking people for experimentation. Unfortunately, Collei is a victim of this practice. As a child, the girl was born sickly, so her parents brought Collei to Barnabas the seer. Barnabas explains that Collei has been touched by a demon, and he must take her to save her life. Of course, all this turns out to be a lie as Barnabas actually works for the Fatui.
Instead of saving her, Collei becomes a test subject for the Archon Residue experiments. As of now, it is unknown how she escaped.
4 Collei Was Cold And Distant
Because of her sickness, people who see Collei would treat her badly. This causes the girl to become distant and untrusting of the people around her. Furthermore, Genshin Impact Collei also develops low self-esteem, pushing people away just as she’s always pushed away before. Collei lost faith in the world and is rather pessimistic and suspicious.
Not only that, but Collei also shows some other trauma. For example, when she was chosen as a volunteer for a magic show, she shows some fear of closed spaces as it brings back bad memories.
3 Amber Thaws Her Frozen Heart
When Collei arrives in Mondstadt, Genshin Impact Amber found her wandering alone. Upon learning that Collei is searching for something, Amber gladly offers her assistance. Despite later learning that Collei was lying, the outrider didn't take it by heart and still treats Collei like a friend.
As Ludi Harpastum was ongoing on Collei's visit, the outrider happily took Collei to fully experience the festival. While she's reluctant at first, Collei quickly understands that there's nothing to worry about in Mondstadt. Eventually, the girl starts to trust the outrider and accept help from people around her.
2 Collei’s Archon Residue Is Settled By Cyno
As Collei's body contains an Archon’s Residue, the Favonius Knights decide to help remove it from her body. For this, Genshin Impact Lisa requests the help of a scholar from Sumeru, Cyno. He performs the ritual at the Starsnatch Cliff and cleanses Collei from the residue.
Not only in the manga but Cyno can also be seen in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail YouTube video. This likely means that Cyno will be the star of the Sumeru chapter, just as Diluc, Ningguang, and Ayaka are important people for the Traveler’s journey across Teyvat.
1 Collei Will Likely Appear In The Sumeru Chapter
After Collei recovers from Barnabas' attack at the Starsnatch Cliff, she decides to follow Cyno to Sumeru. As she regains trust in humanity, Collei decides to ask Lisa to help her write a letter for Amber. In it, Collei apologies for not saying goodbye to Amber.
As Cyno will certainly be there in Sumeru, it is safe to assume that Collei will be there too. With the Chasm recently released in Genshin Impact 2.6, players can expect the Land of Dendro to be available soon.
