HoYoverse has revealed the release date for Genshin Impact Version 4.8, which will drop later this month and feature a new map, a new character, and much more. Genshin Impact's last update, Version 4.7, was released on June 5 and included two 5-star characters in Clorinde and Sigewinne, as well as the 4-star playable character Sethos. The update also introduced new weapons, new quests, event wishes, and Genius Invokation TCG Cards.

In the coming months, Genshin Impact will inch closer to Version 5.0, which is rumored to be introducing three new characters: a 5-Star Dendro Claymore, a female 5-Star Hydro Catalyst, and a female 4-Star Geo Polearm. Version 5.0 is also set to open up the new Natlan region and potentially even raise the level cap to 100. Further leaks for Version 5.0 surround Madame Ping, the next Genshin Impact character set for a Lantern Rite debut.

If Genshin Impact's consistent release calendar is anything to go by, the new Natlan realm will likely drop in Version 5.0 near the end of August. Traditionally, Genshin Impact has introduced a new region for players to explore with every whole number update, i.e. Version 3.0, Version 4.0, and Version 5.0. For example, Genshin Impact Version 3.0 welcomed players to the new region of Sumeru, whereas Version 4.0 opened the doors to Fontaine.
