Version 4.8 will allow Genshin Impact players to claim a free copy of Kirara, the 4-Star Dendro character from Inazuma, who will also be receiving a new outfit in the upcoming patch. Since launch, Genshin Impact has followed a simple pattern when it comes to its update rewards – an odd-numbered Version always yields an exclusive 4-Star weapon, while an even-numbered Version gives a 4-Star character. The Lantern Rite is special in that it allows players to pick a 4-Star character from Liyue, but the 4-Star character in other Versions is usually determined well beforehand.

The most recent 4-Star that players could claim was Gorou, who broke a long streak where Inazuma characters were never featured as free 4-Stars in a Version. Curiously, Kirara is about to become the second free Inazuma character, and her role as a Dendro shield support can be enticingly versatile. With Nilou speculated to be on the Event Banners for Genshin Impact Version 4.8, it's quite possible that Kirara will join Nilou's rerun, given her synergy with the Bloom elemental reaction.

Genshin Impact will give players a free copy of a brand-new weapon in the version 4.7 update, which will be released on June 5.

According to Seele Leaks, Kirara will be the feature free 4-Star character of Version 4.8. Considering that both Nilou and Kirara are set to receive a new Genshin Impact skin, it was only a matter of time until Kirara was confirmed as the reward in Version 4.8. As is tradition, Genshin Impact players will be able to obtain Kirara by going through the Flagship Event of the upcoming patch, which is set to take place in an enchanted forest.

Though Kirara in Genshin Impact is a character whose ability kit only opens up with C4, she has only featured once on the Event Banners since her original release. This has hardly been enough time for most players to obtain copies of Kirara, and being able to raise her constellations through the Flagship Event in Version 4.8 should be appreciated by a significant number of Genshin Impact fans. Though Kirara has featured in several Flagship Events already, she is scheduled to be one of the main stars of Version 4.8 – accompanied by Wanderer, Nilou, Emilie, and Navia.

How Kirara Could Fit With Future Characters in Genshin Impact

Kirara creates a Dendro shield with her Elemental Skill, an ability that only Baizhu can currently replicate with his Elemental Burst. This makes her a valuable option in a lot of teams, and can even be a decent Hyperbloom carry in her own right. However, with upcoming characters like Emilie, it would seem that Genshin Impact is willing to play with underutilized Elemental Reactions such as Burning. All it may take for Kirara's value to skyrocket would be for one of the upcoming Natlan characters in Genshin Impact to have synergy with her. Players will likely know more about Version 5.0 in the second half of July 2024.
