Genshin Impact has teased various NPCs that players will meet in Fontaine after Version 4.0 launches, along with new gadgets that will aid their adventure through the region as well. After meeting certain requirements in Genshin Impact's main story, players may navigate from the Sumeru region to Fontaine by using a convenient waypoint.
HoYoverse will release the Version 4.0 update nearly one year after Sumeru was made available for exploration to all players in Genshin Impact Version 3.0. In Genshin Impact Version 4.0, Traveler and Paimon will set out to Fontaine in order to learn about Hydro Archon Focalors and gain leads on the whereabouts of the Traveler's sibling.
HoYoverse published a new HoYoLab blog post that teases some of the new NPCs and gadgets available in Genshin Impact Version 4.0 next week. After arriving in Fontaine, players may talk to non-human Melusine NPCs and human NPCs to receive new side quests. While exploring the Court of Fontaine, the Traveler and Paimon will meet Euphrasie, the chief editor of The Steambird publication. Euphrasie provides an introduction to Fontaine's reputation system, which allows players to unlock new rewards and gadgets such as a new glider, the Crystalfly Trap, and the Wind-Powered Wind Generator. The Crystalfly Trap allows players to easily capture Crystalflies after inserting specific materials, and the Wind-Powered Wind Generator lets players take off into the air with a glider from any location.
The new blog post also reiterates how to enter the new region for the first time. All Genshin Impact players may enter Fontaine after completing the Archon Quest Prologue and unlocking a Sumeru waypoint in the Realm of Farakhkert. After teleporting to the Realm of Farakhkert, a nearby Waverider waypoint will be available to use in order to sail to Fontaine. Players may disembark at one of Fontaine's main ports: the Romaritime Harbor.
Fontaine's main city will be full of intriguing new NPCs to speak with in Genshin Impact Version 4.0, and the new gadgets aid in improving the overall player experience with quality-of-life features. For example, Crystalfly farming will be much easier through the use of the new trap gadget. Genshin Impact players exploring Fontaine may also benefit from a quick boost from the Wind-Powered Wind Generator, allowing them to ascend to elevated areas more quickly.
Genshin Impact Version 4.0 will release on August 16, so players only have one week left to explore the Veluriyam Mirage area and obtain special rewards. Once Version 4.0 is available, Veluriyam Mirage and a majority of 3.8's content will no longer be available in the game.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
