Genshin Impact's playable roster is constantly getting updated with new characters that arrive with almost every new update. The current version, 2.6, has added a new Hydro character named Kamisato Ayato.

Like in most action RPG titles, players have the option to build characters in their unique way, which affects their play style and overall performance on the battlefield. The official livestream event for Genshin Impact Version 2.7 has revealed the majority of the content that will arrive in the upcoming weeks.

With all the new character additions, Reddit user isteyp has pointed out an interesting new feature many in the community may have missed during the livestream. The new update will now give recommendations when leveling combat talents and choosing the right Genshin Impact artifacts for each character. This recommendation will be made based on the current talent and artifact use rate for the specific character. The majority of the community seems to welcome this addition, and the post has gathered almost 5k upvotes so far.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that this new recommendation feature could save many new players from grinding for the wrong stats. Each Genshin Impact character has three different combat talents — Normal Attack, Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst — that define their play style and role within a team. While some Genshin Impact DPS characters rely on their Normal Attack to do most of the work, other roles like sub-DPS or support usually prefer a higher level on their Elemental Skill and Burst.

For example, with Venti, who is one of the strongest support characters in Genshin Impact, players prefer to level his Elemental Burst first and leave his Normal Attack untouched. Maxing a character's talent is far from cheap, especially in the later stages of the game, which means that focusing on the right Combat Talent is crucial for a character's performance on the field.

Grinding for artifacts is probably one of the least favorite activities for most players since it's almost impossible to acquire the right set with the current RNG system in Genshin Impact. However, the addition of recommendations will at least let players know which stats they should focus on when choosing the right artifact set. A number of players are curious how the new feature works for characters with different stats depending on their role. One of game's most popular characters, Zhongli, usually has three different build paths — Physical damage, Geo damage and shield strength — so it will be interesting to see how the system will adapt to his play style.

Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
