Genshin Impact has officially confirmed the arrival of two new characters for update 3.2. Even though version 3.1 is yet to arrive on September 28, developer HoYoverse has already revealed more information about Nahida and Layla who are expected to join the playable roster in the next update.

Each Genshin Impact update is divided into parts which means that Nahida and Layla could be spread into the two banner cycles. According to HoYoverse's new update schedule, update 3.2 should arrive around November 7.

After weeks of speculation, the official Genshin Impact Twitter account has finally confirmed two new characters, Nahida and Layla, for update 3.2. Nahida currently serves as a quest-exclusive NPC and the main protector of the recently added Sumeru region. Even though developer HoYoverse usually releases Archons one update after a new major region arrives, they have broken that pattern by scheduling Nahida's arrival to update 3.2 instead of 3.1. While HoYoverse is yet to reveal her gameplay, popular leakers have already given more details about her kit.

Nahida's elemental skill applies the new Dendro element and provides a damage buff. The description of her elemental burst seems to be much more interesting as it apparently grants a buff that depends on Nahida's party members' elements. Having a Hydro character will apparently increase the elemental burst duration which could make her to go-to support for the new Bloom team composition. The Pyro element will increase the elemental skill damage, and Electro lowers the skill's cooldown. It should be noted that the leaker did not clarify if these buffs will affect all party members or just Nahida alone.

Just like all the other Sumeru characters, Nahida's skills will scale on Elemental Mastery which has become one of the main stats in the game since the new major update arrived. Due to her leaked kit description, it's safe to say that Nahida is a new Dendro support character. The reveal of the second character, Layla, has caught many players by surprise as her name didn't come up in any recent rumors.

This usually indicates that she will have a lower four-star rarity. Layla is a Rtawahist student which is one of the six main schools in Sumeru. When it comes to her element, Layla is confirmed to be a Cryo user and while the official art did not specify her weapon type, popular leakers have revealed that she is a new Genshin Impact sword user.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
