Chinese open-world RPG Genshin Impact has received its version 1.5 update today, as well as a release on PS5. The update comes with a number of new additions and changes that are sure to keep players captivated.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world, gacha RPG by Chinese game developer miHoYo. The game takes place in the world of Teyvat and features the story of a player-named avatar character who was trapped there, and now has to travel the world searching for a way to rescue their kidnapped sibling. It's also possible that the game has lore connections with Honkai Impact, another mobile miHoYo gacha RPG.

The update adds a ton of new content to the game, the biggest piece of which is the Serenitea Pot. The Serenitea Pot lets the player create their own realms and abodes; effectively their own private areas that they can decorate as they want and make their own in-game homestead. Furnishings for the realms can be crafted using materials that can be found all over Teyvat. As part of this feature, there's also the Teapot Spirit, who acts as the player's butler in their realm. As the player increases their Trust Rank with the Teapot Spirit they can get various rewards.

Also included in the update are two new characters. The first is a 5-star Cryo character named Eula, who wields a claymore in battle. They're described as "a scion of the old aristocracy" and a member of the Knights of Favonius. The next is the 4-star Yanfei, a Pyro catalyst user who is described as "a brilliant young lady in whose veins runs the blood of an illuminated beast." Sadly, neither of the new characters has a new weapon and element combination. Also included with the update are new weapons, recipes, monsters, artifacts, quests, and domains for the player to complete, including a new story quest for fan favorite character Zhongli.

These updates should fit right in with players' expectations of Genshin Impact 1.5. miHoYo has made good on their promises to add quite a few exciting editions to the game. The ability to create domains and decorate houses should be especially of interest to players, who now have even more reasons to log into Genshin and explore for more resources to make furnishings.

This should keep players pretty busy until the next update, which leaks suggest is going to be quite the beefy update as well. New regions to explore and boats to get there are rumored to be included in version 1.6.

Genshin Impact is out now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
