Once players complete the main World Quest of Chenyu Vale in Genshin Impact, pay a visit to Qiaoying Village to find an NPC with a Quest mark. It turns out that Uncle Luo is worried about the tea cauldron and is watching Hautemontagne tinker away with the cauldrons to find out what’s wrong with them.
After intense research, Hautemontagne discovers that there is something wrong with gyrators. In other words, the cauldron is fine, but there seems to be an issue with the three connected mechanisms/monoliths, which is causing a problem with the flow of the elemental energy. It’s up to players to fix each of the three mechanisms and complete the Threefold Expectations quest in Genshin Impact.

How To Trigger The Threefold Expectations Quest In Genshin Impact
Triggering the Threefold Expectations Quest in Genshin Impact can be done by speaking with Uncle Luo in Qiaoying Village. However, Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade World Quest must be completed for the Quest to appear on the mini-map in the village.
After speaking with both Uncle Luo and Hautemontagne, players set out on a journey to try and fix the broken mechanisms that are causing a problem with the tea cauldron. Each mechanism will have a certain element, and you need to solve a small puzzle in Genshin Impact to re-activate the three mechanisms or monoliths.
How To Adjust The Hydro Monolith
Go northwest of Qiaoying Village to find the Hydro monolith surrounded by Lotus Lanterns. Interact with the monolith, then investigate the nearby Lotus Lantern to spawn a couple of Hydro Slimes in Genshin Impact. Defeat them, then pick up the big Lotus Light using adeptal energy to briefly turn on all surrounding Lotus Lanterns. Open the chest and move on to the next area.
How To Adjust The Anemo Monolith
Head west of the Qiaoying Village to encounter the Anemo monolith. Resonate with the monolith to trigger an easy puzzle in Genshin Impact. Fly up the wind current and use adeptal energy to pull the platform closer. Climb it and hit all the floating Anemo Slimes. Activate the adeptal energy to move to a higher platform and shoot even more Anemo Slimes to complete the puzzle.
How To Adjust The Pyro Monolith
For the Pyro monolith, go southeast of Qiaoying Village towards a small cave. Defeat the Pyro Slimes guarding the entrance and head inside. Approach the monolith and resonate with it to spawn a Jade Incense Cauldron puzzle, which you need to complete to activate the monolith. To solve it, stand behind one of the Cauldrons and call the adeptal energy towards you to light it up. Quickly repeat this step with all Jade Cauldrons to light them all at the same time.
How To Complete The Threefold Expectations Quest In Genshin Impact
Once all three monoliths are activated, return to Qiaoying Village and investigate the tea cauldron with Hautemontagne. After poking around, you will get transported inside the teapot realm where there are a lot of elemental creatures. Defeat them alongside the Eye of the Storm to finally fix the tea cauldron.
Upon leaving the Domain in Genshin Impact, Uncle Luo and Hautemontagne thank the Travelers and promise to give them the finest cup of tea when they visit the village again. This will complete the Threefold Expectations Quest and reward the Tea I Am, Tea in a Cauldron Achievement.
