The official Twitter for Genshin Impact developer miHoYo officially revealed a cool new feature today for Genshin fans. It's not a feature in the game, but one that fans can access on miHoYo's website that might be helpful while playing the game.

Genshin Impact is an open-world, free-to-play RPG with gacha mechanics by Chinese game developer miHoYo. The game takes place in Teyvat, a constructed fantasy world with seven different nations, each based on a different real-world culture, and worshiping a different elemental god. The only two that are explorable in the game right now are the German-inspired Mondstadt and the Chinese-inspired Liyue, although the Japanese-inspired area Inazuma is being added to the game soon.

Alongside the recent 1.5 update, the new feature miHoYo released is an interactive map of Teyvat on their website. Encompassing the entire area of the game so far, the map is very similar to Google Maps or a lot of fan-based interactive maps. Viewers can scroll around the map with their mouse or zoom in and out with their scroll wheel, with an increasing level of detail the more they zoom in.

Beyond just being a fun map to look around, the interactive map includes important resource locations, monster locations, chest locations, waypoints, elemental oculi, and more. According to miHoYo's Twitter, it also supports 13 languages, which should make it helpful for players in other countries as well. The map also has blank space for expansion when new areas are added in later patches.

This map will probably end up being incredibly useful for players who are hoping to plan out their trips throughout Teyvat. It will help players who want to find useful resources like eggs, as well as those who have just a few last things to find before they've explored the entire map. In many ways, it's more convenient than the in-game map, because it starts with everything labeled, and the player doesn't have to open a separate menu to use it. They could just have it open on another device for easy reference.

But beyond just being useful, the map is also just fun. It's fun to look around maps, the see the sights and landmarks, to imagine what lies just at the map's edge waiting to be discovered. Because the map contains a pretty complete look at Teyvat's geography, it could also be pretty useful for players who just want to explore and enjoy the scenery to use to plan their trips around the continent.

Genshin Impact is out now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch Version also in development.
