Genshin Impact has revealed a new trailer video featuring one of the upcoming five-star characters, Wanderer. He has already been confirmed to arrive in the first part of the upcoming update 3.3 alongside another five-star character Arataki Itto.

The new Anemo user, previously known as the Balladeer and Scaramouche, played an important part in the recent Sumeru storyline where he was portrayed as one of the main Genshin Impact antagonists. Wanderer even received his own boss domain in update 3.2 named Shouki no Kami the Prodigal, which is by many considered the most epic boss fight in the game.

Many fans thought that Scaramouche could be one of Genshin Impact's main villains that players would face in the end-game. He made his first appearance during the "The Crisis Deepens" quest where he introduced himself as a friendly character before Mona revealed his true evil intentions. After Wanderer's fight against the Traveler and Nahida, he went into a comatose state which allowed the Dendro Archon to hide his body away. A recent Genshin Impact video named "Wanderer: Ashes" revealed more details about Wanderer's tragic life. He was initially created by Ei to be the Electro Archon, but after sheding a couple of tears while sleeping, Wanderer was deemed too weak for this important role.

The video shows his relationship with a human boy who apparently died a tragic death which left Wanderer feeling betrayed. While wandering through the world of Teyvat, he joined the infamous Fatui Organization where he became one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. However, after suffering a hard defeat against Nahida, it seems like he is ready to join the good side of the storyline. Even though he used to be an Electro user, Genshin Impact confirmed that Wanderer will have the ability to control the Anemo element.

Wanderer will have a unique playstyle that allows him to float over his opponents and use his catalyst to unleash razor-sharp Anemo attacks. The live stream confirmed that he will be using a specific type of stamina during the hovering state which can be activated with his Elemental Skill, Hanega: Song of the Wind.

Anemo is usually considered a neutral element which means that Wanderer will probably be one of the most flexible DPS characters in Genshin Impact. Song of the Wind can also grant four different buffs when the new five-star character gets in contact with any of the four following elements: Cryo, Pyro, Electro, and Hydro. It should be noted that only two of these buffs can be active at the same time.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
