In the open-world, Maguu Kenki is a Genshin Impact boss residing in Inazuma. It can deal Cryo and Anemo DMG and has an incredibly irritating block skill and i-frames. While not as defensive when it comes to Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG, Maguu Kenki remains incredibly irritating. This monster can create both Anemo and Cryo summon, along with providing a free character switch.

If Travelers wish to get a Maguu Kenki for their deck, they must beat the Tavern Challenge first. Here’s everything players need to know about beating Maguu Kenki in Genshin Impact TCG, along with the strategy to beat it with a 100% success rate.

To beat the Maguu Kenki in Genshin Impact TCG, players have to first get rid of the Nobushi before focusing their hits on the Maguu Kenki.

Maguu Kenki Talent Overview

maguu kenki talent overview in genshin impact

Maguu Kenki in the Tavern Challenge has its Talent card equipped. This card allows the boss to switch Genshin Impact characters after it casts its Anemo or Cryo summon. Casting the Anemo version will change the active character to the next unit, while Cryo will swap to the previous unit.

The boss also has a special status called Terrormask’s Return. This will make Maguu Kenki the active character in the End Phase.

Combat Pattern

tcg combat pattern in genshin impact

Maguu Kenki always starts the first round this way:

  • Nobushi’s Elemental Skill (Electro on Normal Mode, Pyro on Hard Mode)
  • Maguu Kenki’s Normal Attack (Physical DMG)

Afterward, the next turn will go this way:

  • Maguu Kenki’s Anemo Skill
  • Nobushi’s Normal Attack
  • Nobushi’s Normal Attack

The third round will go like this:

  • Maguu Kenki’s Cryo Skill
  • Nobushi’s Burst (this takes two turns to charge, so make sure to defeat the Nobushi before it’s done charging)
  • Nobushi’s Normal Attack

Then, assuming players defeated the Bursting Nobushi, the fourth round will be done this way:

Each Nobushi will only move once, and the enemy’s team will keep switching between each other. Because of this, actions that force the enemy to switch like Overloaded will not affect them too much.

As for the first team, duelers can follow these steps:

Players need to follow these sequences exactly like this. Do not use a single card, and don’t use any fast switch . Otherwise, the pattern will be broken.

The only exceptions are Bennett’s Talent card in Genshin Impact , Noelle’s Talent card, and Bestest Travel Companion. These cards can be used if players have enough to perform Elemental Tuning to get the Dice they need.

Unlike the Normal Mode, Maguu Kenki’s Hard Mode is actually less demanding and easier to defeat. Players can use Genshin Impact Fischl and Oceanid to Electro-Charged the Nobushi, then use Bennett to solo the Maguu Kenki.

Since the enemy will keep switching between their characters, it’s best if players take it slow and don’t fast switch unless necessary.
