Jadeplume Terrorshroom is a fungus boss that can be found in Genshin Impact Sumeru. This enemy is also available as a monster card in the Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG, obtainable via the Tavern Challenge.

The Tavern Challenge unlocks at Player Level 4, but duelers need to reach Player Level 8 to obtain the Jadeplume Terrorshroom card. Like other monster cards, this boss also has some interesting mechanics that may cause it to be hard to beat. Fortunately, beating Jadeplume Terrorshroom in Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG is actually really easy, as long as duelers know how to manipulate the pattern.

Jadeplume Terrorshroom Talent Overview

jadeplume terrorshroom talent overview in genshin impact

The main feature of the Jadeplume Terrorshroom is its Radical Vitality. When Jadeplume takes or deals Elemental DMG, it gains +1 Radical Vitality. Without its Talent card, it can have max 3 stacks, but since the Tavern Challenge comes with the Talent card equipped, the boss will have max 4 stacks.

Each stack of Radical Vitality increases the boss’ Burst DMG by +1. So at 0 stacks, it will grant 4 DMG, while at 4 stacks, it’s bumped to a whopping 8 DMG.

However, if Jadeplume ended the round with maximum stacks, it will lose all its Energy. This allows players to block it from casting its Elemental Burst.

Combat Pattern

the jadeplume terrorshroom combat pattern in genshin impact

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom has a highly predictable combat pattern that duelers can see on the Intent button of the duel. At first, the boss will do the following moves:

  • Elemental Skill: 3 Dendro DMG
  • Normal Attack: 2 Physical DMG

This means the enemy will only gain +1 Radical Vitality on its own, leaving players to have to deal 3 instances of Elemental DMG.

If players manage to stop it from ever casting its Elemental Burst, in round 4, the Intent will change to:

  • Elemental Skill: 3 Dendro DMG
  • Normal Attack: 2 Physical DMG
  • Elemental Skill: 3 Dendro DMG

While Travelers will have to deal with more hits, the demand for dealing Elemental DMG is lowered from three instances to two. This allows people to do other actions in Genshin Impact like healing and a more flexible character switch.

However, if players for some reason failed to remove the boss’ Energy, the Jadeplume will cast Elemental Burst on the next turn, and the pattern will be messed up. Because of this, it’s crucial to ensure the Jadeplume never ends the round with full Energy.

Strategy To Beat Jadeplume Terrorshroom In Genshin Impact TCG

Since dealing 3 instances of Elemental Skill typically requires 9 Dice, duelers can’t rely on 3 Skill Cast to deal the Elemental DMG they need. Because of this, players should bring Genshin Impact characters that can summon and deal DMG while summoning or create more than one summons in one turn. So far, the only units that fulfill this criterion are Oceniad, Fischl, Maguu Kenki, and Mona. Here's an example of how to beat Jadeplume Terrorshroom with Mona, Bennett, and Oceanid without using any card:

It’s also important to note that players must end the round before the enemy if the summon is supposed to create the fourth stack. Therefore, players must not switch characters unless it’s a Fast Action. If the switch is not a Fast Action, the Jadeplume will end its turn first, ruining the entire plan.

For example, if the round ends with Jadeplume having 3 Radical Vitality stacks and Oz is on the field:

  • If Jadeplume Terrorshroom ends the round before the players: Oz’s Electro DMG will create the fourth stack, but the boss will not lose the Energy as it already passed its End Phase.
  • If players end the round before the Jadeplume Terrorshroom: Oz grants +1 stack before the Jadeplume reaches End Phase, so it will lose all stacks and all Energy.

Since getting Fast switch cards like Leave It To Me! Or Katheryne is not guaranteed, Travelers should highly consider using Mona in the Genshin Impact team. Not only Mona has summon and allows Fast switch, but she can also deal Elemental DMG via her Normal Attack thanks to her Catalyst weapon.

Here’s what an ideal battle with Jadeplume Terrorshroom will look like:

  • Start the battle with Mona and cast her Skill, dealing Hydro DMG and increasing one stack of Radical Vitality to the boss
  • Jadeplume will deal Dendro DMG, gaining +1 Radical Vitality
  • Switch to Fischl and summons Oz, dealing Electro DMG and placing the boss at three stacks
  • Jadeplume deals Physical DMG, so the stack does not increase
  • Players should end the round now as the enemy is out of actions
  • Jadeplume ends the round
  • Mona’s Mimic deals Hydro DMG before the enemy finishes its End Phase, increasing Radical Vitality to 4. Oz also deals Electro DMG in Genshin Impact, but since the stack is maxed, Radical Vitality remains 4
  • Jadeplume starts its End Phase. The game detects max Radical Vitality, thus removing all the stacks and Energy

In the next round, as players already have Oz on the field, they will have more flexibility in their actions. Just remember to continue the pattern of maintaining four stacks on the Jadeplume, and the battle should be an easy one, even in the hard mode.

Best Team To Beat Jadeplume Terrorshroom In Genshin Impact TCG

Using Mona is highly recommended, so there are two more slots to fill:

  • A second summoner, preferably one that deals DMG when casting the Skill
  • A healer, shielder, or Collei

For the summoner, Fischl and Maguu Kenki are far more recommended, but players can also use other units like Xiangling and Oceanid.

For the final slot, duelers can use a Genshin Impact healer or shielder to help with Jadeplume’s damage, or bring Collei for a faster duel. Collei is amazing for several reasons:

  • Dendro reacts with Hydro and Electro (if players use Fischl)
  • Collei’s Talent card allows her to deal one extra Dendro DMG if any teammates (including herself) triggers a Dendro-related reaction after casting her Elemental Skill
  • Collei’s Burst only needs 2 Energy and can create 2 rounds of summons

Due to her prowess in dealing Elemental DMG, she’s a perfect character to fight the Jadeplume.

As for shielder or healer, players can use Bennett, Barbara, or Noelle.

Action Cards To Have Against Jadeplume Terrorshroom

katheryne in genshin impact tcg

For the first 3 rounds against Jadeplume Terrorshroom, players have to ensure any switch they do won’t cost them a turn, so Fast Action cards like Katheryne, Leave It To Me! And When The Crane Returned are all crucial. Additionally, Changing Shifts will also come in handy to reduce Dice cost when switching.

Other than that, duelers should try to not have cards that require more than one Dice as the gameplay in this duel is highly restricted and demanding. Therefore, the support Genshin Impact cards people want to have are the ones like:

  • Timmie
  • Liben
  • Chang the Ninth
  • Liu Su

Finally, players will also want to have defensive cards to defend against Jadeplume’s constant hits. For this, the following Genshin Impact cards are highly recommended:

  • Lucky Dog’s Silver Circlet
  • Lotus Flower Crisp
  • Mondstadt Hash Brown

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
