Genshin Impact's most recent major update has introduced the long-awaited region of Sumeru. The arrival of Teyvat's fourth nation was well received in the community to say the least.

At the moment, there are a couple of ways players can access the new major region. The most obvious one is probably just walking through the tunnel which is located under Cinnabar Cliff. However, a new post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit shows a slightly unconventional way to enter Sumeru.

Reddit user hanato_06 has shared a video revealing how players can enter the new Sumeru region through Chasm. All players have to do is find a cave near Gandharva Ville that has a couple of enormous tree roots. Climbing up these roots will give them the option to enter the new region which indicates that this interaction was intentionally put in the game. Another reason why this shouldn't be considered a bug is the fact that going into Sumeru this way will still trigger a special cutscene for players who are entering the new region for the first time.

A couple of fans in the comment section claim that their first encounter with Sumeru was actually through this special entrance. This led many players to believe that developer HoYoverse will probably add a special achievement for players who manage to climb their way up from Chasm to Sumeru. Chasm was the last region that was added before Sumeru during Genshin Impact Version 2.6. The Chasm is a unique part of Teyvat that can be divided into two main parts, the overworld, and the underground mines.

Even before Chasm was released, numerous leaks have been hinting that it would serve as a bridge between Liyue and Sumeru, which has proven to be correct. Just like Chasm, Sumeru is also divided into two parts, rainforests, and deserts. So far, players have the option to explore Sumeru's rainforests with new leaks claiming that Genshin Impact update 3.1 will most likely introduce Teyvat's first deserts.

The majority of the community seems satisfied with the new major region and many players claim that Sumeru managed to even exceed their already high expectations. One of the greatest improvements is the overall exploration experience as the whole region seems to be much more interactive in comparison to Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. Rumors have been hinting that once all of its parts are unlocked, Genshin Impact's new Sumeru nation will be almost as big as the three previously released regions combined.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
