A Genshin Impact fan has proposed an interesting change that would improve the current version of the Standard Banner. This gacha-based game has two types of character banners, standard and limited. The Limited Character Banner is much more popular as it features two five-star characters and three four-stars for a limited period of time which is usually around three weeks.

Genshin Impact's Standard Banner offers seven different five-star characters with the Pyro user Dehya being the most recent addition. There are two ways players can get these characters: by directly spending their Acquaint Fates on the banner or by losing 50-50 of the Limited Character Banner.

One of the main issues with the current Standard Character Banner is the fact that the drop odds are currently divided between seven characters. This means that the players have a 14% chance to get a specific five-star character from this banner. Reddit user Leaveyouinthedust has shared an interesting idea that could significantly improve the current state of the game's gacha system. The player has proposed an adjustment that would add the Epitomized Path wish mechanic to the game's Standard Banner. This feature is already available on the Weapon Banner, and it allows players to target a specific 5-star promotional item by using Fate Points.

Whenever players don't get their desired weapon, they receive one Fate Point, and having two of these points will guarantee their next five-star drop to feature their chosen weapon. Players claim that this mechanic would actually make them occasionally spend their Primogems on the Standard Banner. Some comments have added that every time they lose a 50-50 on the limited banner, they could receive an additional Fate Point. Many fans are in agreement that Genshin Impact should try to update the way their gacha system works.

While the recent decision to expand the pool of playable characters is certainly a step in the right direction, rumors claim that the main reason why HoYoverse made that decision is that Dehya's kit was extremely underwhelming and unworthy of a permanent place on the Limited Character Banner. Players are still waiting for a Geo user to join the Standard Banner since this is the only element that has no representative character.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
