Serpent Spine is a claymore weapon in Genshin Impact, but there's only one way to get it, which involves spending money. Here's how Genshin Impact players can obtain the Serpent Spine claymore, what its stats are, and who it works best on.

As far as weaponry goes in Genshin Impact, the Serpent Spine gets a pretty split rating among players. Some consider Serpent Spine a great late-game weapon thanks to its CRIT-centric stats, and some even say that it can be better than Wolf's Gravestone, a classic claymore suitable for Razor, Diluc, Beidou, or any DPS claymore wielder. However, others feel that players who claim such are biased because they've spent money to obtain the weapon. There are some caveats to whether or not Serpent Spine is a powerful weapon, based on its effects and its Refinement Level.

To obtain the Serpent Spine weapon in Genshin Impact, players will need to reach Battle Pass Level 30 and unlock Gnostic Hymn. Reaching Battle Pass Level 30 in the 6-week period isn't difficult, so long as the player is logging in frequently and completing daily, weekly, and BP period missions often. Alternatively, players can purchase BP Levels via Gnostic Chorus. Purchasing Gnostic Hymn or Gnostic Chorus and reaching Level 30 is required to obtain the BP Bundle, which allows players to choose one four-star weapon from a small list including Serpent Spine.

Serpent Spine's stats revolve around its CRIT Rate of 6% at Level 1, but its ability is unique. Called Wavesplitter, when Serpent Spine is in use, every 4 seconds a character is on the field, they will deal a scaling amount of damage (dependent on refinement level) with a maximum of 5 stacks. Its base ATK is 42. So while Serpent Spine isn't an effective Genshin Impact weapon at Level 1, at Refinement Level 5, enemies can take up to 50% more damage and CRIT Rate will scale up to 27.6%.

The main issue players have with this weapon is its stack decreases by 1 each time the player takes DMG from an enemy. So it's best to equip Serpent Spine to a character with a shield. Many consider Serpent Spine to be an excellent weapon for Noelle, Chongyun, and Razor and can be suitable for Beidou and Xinyan as well.

As far as which Artifacts are best, this depends on which character Serpent Spine has been equipped to, but players can maximize the damage output either by equipping Artifacts that specialize in attack and damage, such as Gladiator's Finale or Bloodstained Chivalry.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
