Ruin Guards are huge humanoid automatons in Genshin Impact that were created during the time of Khaenri'ah, a long-destroyed and forgotten nation. While discovering the vast world of Teyvat, players will certainly encounter Ruin Guards and become victims of their ranged missile attack.
Upon defeating a Ruin Guard in Genshin Impact, the machine will drop Mora, EXP, and some level-up materials like Chaos Device, Chaos Circuit, and Chaos Core. The drop rarity depends on the Ruin Guard's level and the Cores are mostly used to upgrade weapons in Genshin Impact.

Stormterror’s Lair
There are two Ruin Guards in Stormterror’s Lair; one is seen walking along the path near the entrance, whereas the other is near the Statue of the Seven in Genshin Impact.
Hidden Island
From Starsnatch Cliff, it’s possible to find a small island in the distance while looking east. Desperate Travelers who haven’t visited the island before are free to fly to it and defeat the two Ruin Guards inhabiting the land. The Genshin Impact Time and Wind quest is the highlight here.
Other Locations
There are other locations in Mondstadt in which there is only one Ruin Guard:
- Northwest of the Brightcrown Canyon Waypoint
- Inside the Thousand Wind Temple
- In Stormbearer Point
Ruin Guards Location In Liyue
Guyun Stone Forest
There are a total of four Ruin Guards on the small island south of the Guyun Stone Forest Waypoint in Genshin Impact.
Jueyun Karst
While exploring Jueyun Karst, players can encounter five Ruin Guards scattered around the area.
Guili Plains
In Guili Plains, Travelers will encounter three Ruin Guards. Mostly next to the Domain of Forsaken Ruins in Genshin Impact and the Statue of the Seven.
Dunyu Ruins
Four Ruin Guards are scattered around the Statue of the Seven in Dunyu Ruins.
Other Locations
One Ruin Guard can be found wandering alone in the following locations:
- East of Yaoguang Shoal
- North of Mingyun Village
- Near Tiangong Gorge in the Chasm
Ruin Guards Location In Inazuma
Tsurumi Island
Other than the fact that Tsurumi Island is full of mysteries in Genshin Impact, three Ruin Guards are near Wakukau Shoal and two are found around Oina Beach.
Ruin Guards Location In Sumeru
Ruins of Dahri
One Ruin Guard is seen wandering near the Ruins of Dahri while the other is underground and can be reached by going through the cave entrance next to the Tower of Abject Pride Domain in Genshin Impact.
Desert of Hadramaveth
Players can locate eight Ruin Guards spread all around the Desert of Hadramaveth.
Other Locations
For the lone Ruin Guards wandering alone in Sumeru, players can find them in the following places:
- Near the Statue of the Seven in Old Vanarana
- Near the City Of The Deceased Domain in Genshin Impact
- West of the Dark Valley Domain
- South of Khaj-Nisut
Ruin Guards Location In Enkanomiya
Ruin Guards are scattered around five islands in Enkanomiya:
- Seven machines in Evernight Temple
- Five Ruin Guards in Dainichi Mikoshi
- Four in the Serpent’s Heart
- Five humanoid automatons in the Narrows
- Two enemies in the Serpent Bowles
