Genshin Impact is just hours away from its next major update, Version 1.2. The literal game-changer is set to introduce a whole new region, Dragonspine, in addition to quests, events, playable characters, and more.

Although Travelers have had a steady source of leaks and announcements detailing the Version 1.2 features, Genshin Impact has still managed to retain some of its secrets. For example, players are now even more confused about previously leaked character Rosaria, who seems to have been quietly extracted from the game's data, after being discovered earlier this fall.

When leakers like NEP NEP first dropped word of upcoming Genshin Impact characters, players had little other information to work with. Travelers knew that characters like Xiao, Ayaka, and Ganyu would all certainly make their ways into the game, though their arrival dates were a total mystery. Now, players know that the game's next roster additions will be Albedo and Ganyu, with characters like Xiao likely waiting until early spring.

That being said, one of the characters originally leaked with Albedo and Ganyu, a four-star named Rosaria, seems to be growing more distant from the game, rather than making any appearances. Rosaria is a brassy member of the Church of Favonius that works alongside Hydro healer Barbara in Teyvat. Aside from that, and the fact that she seems to be a nun with an edge, players only know that she's supposed to be a playable four-star character, eventually. Players thankfully now have video evidence of Rosaria's in-game model, as shown below, but despite her being found in a previous datamine, and her being showcased in a recent Version 1.2 Livestream, Rosaria's data now seems to be entirely gone from the game.

Especially after players got a sneak peek at Rosaria from the Genshin Impact Version 1.2 Special Program, most were sure she would be joining the game with Albedo in Version 1.2. After all, most five-star releases are accompanied by a new four-star character. Unfortunately, it seems that either players will have to wait a bit longer, or miHoYo is feeling particularly mischievous, as Rosaria is no longer found in the game's data.

Nonetheless, this sassy nun appears to be quite the opposite of Barbara. Aside from bearing a complementary color scheme (deep reds), Rosaria is seen sporting silver claws on either hand, which is odd for a nun, to say the least. Given that there aren't really any "brawlers" in Genshin Impact, the claws don't confirm Rosaria's preferred in-game weapon. On a similar note, her Vision is currently unconfirmed, but some players are hoping for a possible Dendro character in Rosaria, particularly in light of recently-leaked Inazuma Dendro weapons. Travelers speculate that her name, though certainly a reference to rosaries, might also be subtle nod towards roses.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for  PS5 and Switch.
