One of the many Genshin Impact enemies introduced during the Inazuma arc was Riftwolves. As enemies, they will drop various types of claws when defeated, which are used in ascending certain weapons.
At higher levels, Wolves of the Rift can drop better and better items.
- Any level Riftwolf can drop Concealed Claw
- Riftwolves level 40 and up can drop Concealed Unguis
- Riftwolves level 60 and up can drop Concealed Talon
Riftwolves have the same drops regardless of element or class. Currently, the main group of Riftwolf enemies comes in four types: Rockfond Rifthounds, Rockfond Rifthound Whelps, Thundercraven Rifthounds, and Thundercraven Rifthound Whelps. There is also the Golden Wolflord boss, but this is a separate enemy and does not drop the same items.
Riftwolf Locations - Inazuma
The vast majority of Riftwolves in the game are located in Inazuma, specifically on Tsurumi Island. Much of this island is inaccessible until completion of the World Quest Series titled "Through the Mists," during which the player will clear the fog and open up the island.
Tsurumi Island North - Shirikoro Peak
On the left: there are two Thundercraven Whelps that appear in the sand west of the teleport waypoint on top of Shirikoro Peak.
On the right: To access this spot, the water level must be lowered in the area. This can be done by bringing three Seelies back to their courts inside the mountain.
Once the water level is lowered, head down into the center part of the mountain to the lowest section then head north through a passageway with some cobwebs. Two more Thundercraven Whelps can be found here.
Tsurumi Island West - Autake Plains
All three on the west side: These wolves are all hanging around on the beach and aren't difficult to find. From top to bottom there are two Thundercraven Whelps, one Rockfond Rifthound, and then one more Rockfond Rifthound.
Just west of the teleport waypoint: There is one Thundercraven Rifthound and one Thundercraven Whelp nearby the path that winds through Autake Plains. This area is crawling with Hilichurls so keep watch for them shooting arrows.
Tsurumi Island Central
Just west of the teleport waypoint, there are two Thundercraven Whelps.
Tsurumi Island South
In the bit of peninsula where the Golden Wolflord is found, there are a few Riftwolves roaming the area.
Top left: There is one Rockfond Rifthound and one Rockfond Whelp on the beach.
Southeast, left: There is one Thundercraven Rifthound and one Thundercraven Whelp in the grass, just west of a small, flat hill.
Southeast, right: One Rockfond Rifthound and one Rockfond Whelp can be found east of the same flat hill.
Riftwolf Locations - Mondstadt
There are three Rockfond Whelps that appear northwest of the Wolf of the North challenge in Wolvendom. They will only appear after completing Razor's first Story Quest chapter, Lupus Minor.
Riftwolf Locations - Sumeru
There are a couple of Riftwolves dotted around Sumeru. Aside from the images and locations listed below, there are also quite a few that are frozen in Gray Crystals in the northernmost section of the desert, around Tunigi Hollow. Khvarena power is needed to unfreeze these wolves, and once defeated, they don't reappear.
Sumeru - Vissudha Field
Left: Head north to the path from the teleport waypoint on the far right of this image, until you come to an Eremite camp. Squeeze in behind one of the tents to find a hidden cavern heading deep into the earth, almost straight down. At the bottom of this cavern, there is a Thundercraven Rifthound and a Thundercraven Whelp.
Right: These wolves only appear once, in the Withering Zone. Once it's cleared, they won't spawn again.
Sumeru - King Deshret's Mausoleum
There are a handful of Riftwolves that can be found underground in the desert, just near King Deshret's Mausoleum. Specifically, these Whelps can be found on the lowest level of Duat Hall, which is found at the teleport waypoint just south of the Mausoleum. Duat Hall can be accessed if the Golden Slumber quest is finished and the Old Notes and New Friends World Quest has been initiated. The player will also need the Ferryman's Clearance level to enter.
The lower-left wolves in the image are two Thundercraven Whelps, and the upper-right are three Thundercraven Whelps.
