While walking around the Mary-Ann Memorial Park in Genshin Impact, players may notice a quest mark near the Statue of the Seven. Walk down from the Statue to find researchers in the area that needs help.
Volunteering to help these researchers will start the Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles quest in Genshin Impact, which is the official way to access the Central Laboratory Ruins, a place where there are floating water blocks to explore. However, before reaching this point, players must first retrieve the remaining Anchors in Genshin Impact.
How To Retrieve The Remaining Anchors In Genshin Impact
Players must solve puzzles in two different places to retrieve the remaining Anchors in Genshin Impact. One is in the Institute Dormitories, while the other is in the Institute of Clockwork Applications.
Retrieve The Anchor In The Institute Dormitories
To retrieve the Anchor in Institute Dormitories in Genshin Impact, players must first find an Ousia Block at the end of the room. Then, head back to the entrance and hit the Pneuma-aligned Fixed Storage Device to activate the Research Terminal. Alternatively, players can also utilize Ousia Arkhe instead of picking up the Block. For this, the easiest option is Lynette’s Skill as she’s a free Genshin Impact character.
After the door opens, Pick Up the Energy Transfer Device and place it in front of the Research Terminal by the door.
Next, head deeper inside and activate the Energy Transfer Terminal, which will change the player's view to where the Terminal’s camera-like device is located. While in this camera view, aim the cross-hair at the activated (blue) Fixed Storage Device and press the action button to take the Energy. Then, aim the cross-hair at the red Energy Transfer Device and press the action button again to move the Energy into it.
Once the Energy Transfer Device is activated (blue in color), pick it up again, head inside, and then place it near the Research Terminal that closes the gate. Start the mechanism to open the door and players can take the first Anchor for the Fontaine Research Insitute Chronicles quest in Genshin Impact.
Retrieve The Anchor In The Institute Of Clockwork Applications
Next, head to the Institute Of Clockwork Applications to retrieve the second Anchor. After Nacker opens the door, walk inside to find two Mekas guarding the Energy Transfer Terminal. Defeat them to unseal it.
Before activating the Terminal, head to the corner of the room and destroy a rock boulder to reveal a Fixed Storage Device. Like before, use the Ousia Block on the wall to activate it and change its color from red to blue.
Now, activate the Energy Transfer Terminal, and aim the cross-hair at the Terminal on the right side of the room to switch the camera view.
Afterward, take the Energy from the Fixed Storage Device, and aim the cross-hair at the Terminal under the Ousia Block to switch the camera again. Lastly, use the action button on the red Fixed Storage Device to activate the Research Terminal and allow players to open the door.
Head inside the gate and claim the final Anchor for the Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles quest in Genshin Impact.
