Every day, Genshin Impact players have the chance to do four different commissions. Out of the four, they can have two NPC commissions at most. When this happens, Travelers can only hope that it’s the quest they need to complete their achievement list.

Some Genshin Impact commissions can grant a special achievement, so they’re more desired than the ones who don’t. Unfortunately, even though custom-commission has been frequently proposed by the community, as of now, there’s no way players can choose a specific task. Therefore, people need to solely rely on the mercy of RNG. From the many available Genshin Impact commissions, here are some of the most desired, yet rarest ones.

7 Reliable Helper

venti-tsarevich-mondstadt-reliable-helper-commission
  • Location: Mondstadt
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Perfectionist."

Tsarevich is likely one of the most annoying NPCs in Genshin Impact. This Snezhnayan merchant will task players to do some chores and then pay them poorly, even if they did the job right. Fortunately though, after finishing all three versions of his missions perfectly, Travelers will get the Perfectionist achievement. They will also be one step closer to getting the Snezhnaya Does Not Believe in Tears: Series I namecard. Here’s what people need to do to perfectly finish Tsarevich’s tasks:

  • Foot of the mountains: Beat the enemies and come back within one minute
  • Mountainside: Didn’t destroy a single crate
  • Mountaintop: Defeat the enemies in this order: Blazing Axe Mitachurl > Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurl > Samachurl

6 Cliffhanger

  • Location: Liyue
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Friends, Travelers, Lend Me Your Ears..." and "Once Upon a Time..."

The Cliffhanger commission in Genshin Impact has two achievements to get, Friends, Travelers, Lend Me Your Ears… and Once Upon a Time… the former requires players to submit Part I and Part II of Ring of Raining Blades, while the latter needs the excerpt for The Wrath of Haishan. Here’s how to get each story:

  • Ring of Raining Blades (Part I) - Gentry Maocai
  • Ring of Raining Blades (Part II) - Jiangzhou
  • The Wrath of Haishan - Fan Er'ye

When the commission is in progress, however, players can only talk to two out of the three people. The people Travelers can talk to are determined by RNG.

5 Geo Travel Diary

  • Location: Liyue
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Geo Archon Anecdotes."

Thankfully, there’s no other RNG involved in the Geo Travel Diary commission. To get the Geo Archon Anecdotes achievement, players have to give Musheng: A plant or ingredients, ores, dishes, and Glaze Lily. Each category will trigger the man to tell them different anecdotes, so people simply need to keep track of what they give Musheng in this quest.

The man will also hand them a paper of his story, but after two papers are handed, the third one will remove the other two. Therefore, it’s possible to look back at what players have done, but it ultimately depends on personal tracking in the end.

4 Good Sign

  • Location: Liyue
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Love is All Around" and "Open to Interpretation."

In Good Sign, players will assist Zhihua in finding signs of love. To get the Love is All Around achievement, people need to see five good signs of romance (without ruining it), while for the Open to Interpretation version, they need to ruin four of the five signs of romance. Each commission will only grant two out of the five possible signs, so this has to be done at least five times to get both achievements. In truth, though, people are likely still struggling to find the sign that they need. After all, it’s RNG on top of RNG.

3 Pirate Invasion, in Liyue Harbor!

  • Location: Liyue
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Pirates! Argh!"

Pirate Invasion, in Liyue Harbor! is actually not a very rare commission, but what’s rare about it is getting all three versions of it. To get the achievement, players have to play with the kids on Little Meng, Little Lulu, and Little Fei’s versions. This means, with the most luck, people need to do this three times. But most Travelers are likely stuck with one or two versions only.

2 A Boy's Letter

  • Location: Mondstadt
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Achievement: "Dear Daddy..."

Timmie’s pigeon commission is likely one of the most annoying quests players can get in Mondstadt, so it’s irritating how many times it tends to happen. On the other hand, A Boy’s Letter is more of a myth for the majority of the fanbase. This task also involves Timmie, who’s trying to send a letter to his father. There’s no way to guarantee to get this commission, so only luck can allow people to get the Dear Daddy… achievement.

1 Bantan Sango Case File: Cleanup Work

raiden-shogun-sango-commission-genshin
  • Location: Inazuma
  • Prerequisite:
    • Bantan Sango Case File
    • Bantan Sango Case File: The Search
      • East of Inazuma City
      • East of Amakane Island
      • Northeast of Kamisato Estate, at the base of the cliff
    • Bantan Sango Case File: Misdirection
      • East of Inazuma City
      • East of Amakane Island
      • Northeast of Kamisato Estate, at the base of the cliff
    • Bantan Sango Case File: The Right Identity
    • Bantan Sango Case File: Case-Closing Time
  • Achievement: "Is There But One Truth...?"

Bantan Sango Case File may seem like a common commission in Inazuma, but it’s actually a long chain of quests that’ll eventually lead to the last version, Bantan Sango Case File: Cleanup Work. To reach this point, players practically have to have enough luck to get the commission several times, making it one of the rarest players can get in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
