Early on during their time with Genshin Impact, the brand-new free-to-play game from developer miHoYo, players will receive a quest that instructs them to process three ingredients. That said, the way that this is done is never explicitly explained, and some fans may find themselves unable to complete this task as a result. Fortunately, it is quite easy to process ingredients in Genshin Impact, and it is a mechanic that players will become intimately familiar with as they progress through the title.
To start with a brief explanation, processing in Genshin Impact simply refers to the act of transforming one ingredient into another, and there are many items that can be changed in this way. As examples, Milk can be processed into Cheese, Wheat can be processed into Flour, Raw Meat can be processed into Sausage, and so forth, and players will need to do these types of transformation to cook many of the dishes, which can give character powerful bonuses, in this RPG.
How to Process Ingredients in Genshin Impact
With processing defined it is now possible to describe how it is done, and indeed it is very straightforward mechanic. Simply, players should begin by interacting with any of the cooking pots in the game to enter the cooking interface. These cooking pots are located across Genshin Impact's open world, but fans that are just starting the title will likely find it easiest to stick to those that are housed in the starting towns.
Once a player has accessed the cooking interface, they should then look to the two icons at the top. For ingredient processing, it is the chilli peppers icon that is of interest, and fans should select it to access the relevant menu. If performed correctly, the word "Process" will appear at the top-left corner, and Genshin Impact players are now ready to transform ingredients by selecting them, pressing "Cook" at the bottom-right corner, and then confirming an amount.
To note, while following these steps will put things into motion, ingredient processing in Genshin Impact is not immediate. Indeed, each ingredient takes a designated amount of time to process, with some requiring as much as 20 minutes, and a countdown will appear on the item while it is undergoing the transformation.
