A Genshin Impact poll reveals the most popular playable male characters in the Chinese community. The game runs on a gacha-based system which makes the playable roster its main source of revenue. Every new update that arrives introduces at least one or two brand-new characters which can be obtainable through the Limited Character Banners that usually last for three weeks.
The last male character that arrived to Genshin Impact's roster is the Anemo user Wanderer, previously known as Scaramouche, and he was part of the first banner cycle for the current update 3.3. HoYoverse already confirmed that the next update will introduce another male unit named Alhaitham who already made multiple in-game appearances due to his involvement in the Sumeru arc.
A Genshin Impact fan has shared an interesting poll that shows the most popular characters in the game's Chinese communities. At the top of the list is the Anemo user Kaedehara Kazuha which does not come as a surprise since he is widely considered as one of, if not the best supports in Genshin Impact due to his ability to fit almost any team composition in the game. This character, also known as the Wandering Samurai is almost always one the most used characters in the highest Spiral Abyss floors. Kazuha's kit, which is stacked with crowd control, damage boosts, and enemy debuffs, can hardly be matched by any other character in the game.
The second character on the list is Zhongli who is known as the Geo Archon who watches over the Liyue region. This could be one of the reasons why he is ranked so high on the list as every region in the game is based on a real-life location and Liyue is inspired by Chinese culture. Similar to Kazuha, Zhongli is also a very flexible Genshin Impact support since his Geo element can hardly interfere with any other elemental reactions.
The third character on the list is the recently released Wanderer who quickly became a fan-favorite after switching to the good side. Wanderer has a unique playstyle that allows him to fly over his enemies and deploy razor-sharp wind blades that deal Anemo damage.
Many fans were surprised to see Diluc ranked so high since he is a Standard Banner character. Even though Diluc used to dominate the DPS meta in Genshin Impact back in its early updates, many players have replaced him with stronger characters who have much more to offer. Players also expected to see Xiao much higher since he also plays an important role in Liyue's storyline.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
