Character variety main attractions when it comes to gameplay features in Genshin Impact. Altogether, Genshin Impact’s combat mainly relies on utilizing characters, weapons, and Elemental damage among other related features to overcome the villains and monsters throughout the vast lands of Teyvat. Given how central the characters are to the core gameplay, new characters in Genshin Impact have consistently been added to the game since its initial release and each continues to be a grand ordeal for the most part.

Genshin Impact is currently available on PC, Mobile, and more recently, PlayStation consoles. Despite being fairly similar to one of the platform’s famous titles, Genshin Impact will eventually make the jump and become available on Nintendo Switch as well. With this new and significant upcoming moment for Genshin Impact, if it repeats the events of its previous platform release, there could be more to this event than just another platform port. Genshin Impact Should Release More Crossover Characters

When Genshin Impact became available on PlayStation consoles, it turned into a collaboration between one of PlayStation’s first-party gaming studios that ended up adding exclusive content to Genshin Impact to commemorate the event. Any players that logged in to Genshin Impact on a Playstation console within a limited time surrounding the new platform release could obtain Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Aloy in Genshin Impact as a permanent playable character. This character isn’t exactly one of the strongest characters in Genshin Impact, although Aloy is still a fun and extremely rare character who hopefully starts a longstanding tradition for Genshin Impact.

Since the PlayStation platform release, it has been meanwhile announced that Genshin Impact will be available on Nintendo Switch at some point. While there still isn’t a release date yet, it is inevitably growing closer and closer as time marches on since the initial announcement. Following in the footsteps of the previous platform release, Genshin Impact should seize the opportunity to collaborate with a Nintendo gaming studio, or two.

Not to mention, if Genshin Impact’s release on Nintendo Switch continues the trend of becoming a crossover event, this could have a lasting impact on the future of the game. Currently, there aren’t any plans for an Xbox platform release for Genshin Impact, but this could very well change in due time and provide yet another opportunity for an epic crossover in Genshin Impact.

What a Genshin Impact and Nintendo Crossover Could Look LikeGenshin Impact Nintendo Super Mario Crossover Character Potential Meme

One of Nintendo’s biggest mascot characters, Mario, could be perfect as a future character in Genshin Impact. Infused with a fire flower power-up, Mario already has the makings of a Pyro catalyst user in Genshin Impact, like how Aloy is such a good fit as a Cryo bow user.

With how similar Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the prequel game are to Genshin Impact, the main characters from these games are arguably strong contenders for a crossover in Genshin Impact as well. Although Link is traditionally a sword user, he doesn’t necessarily align with any specific Element in Genshin Impact, however, the Zelda games could still take on a different form in Genshin Impact instead of new characters. Both Link and Zelda could potentially become character costumes in Genshin Impact for the traveler characters, Lumine and Aether. Additionally, there’s the possibility of introducing the iconic Master Sword as a weapon in Genshin Impact.

Given how extensive Nintendo’s gaming library has become, there’s truly an infinite possibility of games that could be worthy of a crossover in Genshin Impact beyond the Legend of Zelda and Super Mario franchises. At any rate, it would be a missed opportunity not to partner with a Nintendo gaming studio for a crossover in Genshin Impact, especially if it means introducing a new unique character, weapon, costume, or more to the game.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
