Genshin Impact is adding alternate outfits for Kirara and Nilou in Version 4.8, according to leaks, and players can now get an early look at what the models of both characters look like. While fans have long hoped that HoYoverse would release new skins for Genshin Impact characters at a faster pace, the developer has consistently provided alternate outfits during every Summer Event and Lantern Rite, roughly six months apart. Shenhe, Ganyu, and Xingqiu received new skins during Version 4.4, and now the time has come for Nilou and Kirara.

While earlier Genshin Impact leaks pointed towards Sucrose and Albedo getting alternate outfits, it would seem that the concepts were either shelved or discarded during development. Curiously, they were described as having a fairy tale theme, which perfectly fits with the Forest of Blessings, the temporary zone featured in Genshin Impact Version 4.8. The alternate outfits for Kirara and Nilou follow the same concept, and both characters will play a prominent role in the Flagship Event for the upcoming patch.

Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Stunning New Limited Area For 4.8

The new skins for Nilou and Kirara were shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit via Videre Leaks, albeit without any textures. Thankfully, the models themselves are detailed enough for players to make out the general design. Nilou's leaked alternate outfit in Genshin Impact cleverly keeps her horned silhouette by trading the headdress for a laurel wreath. By contrast, Kirara's outfit is a more radical departure from her default look and appears to be inspired by Puss in Boots. Both are confirmed as 4-Star skins, with the latter being obtainable through the Flagship Event in Version 4.8.

Genshin Impact Is Adding Alternate Skins for Nilou and Kirara in Version 4.8

In addition to her alternate skin, players can also claim Kirara for free in Genshin Impact Version 4.8. As a Dendro 4-Star character, she helps enable some of the strongest Elemental Reactions in the game and offers shield support via her Elemental Skill. Though her ability kit only truly opens up after reaching C4, there is a very good chance that Kirara will also feature on the Event Banners in Version 4.8, as she tends to be a decent teammate for Nilou.

Given that the models have no textures yet, there is no way to accurately guess what their color scheme will end up being. That being said, if past examples are anything to go by, there are two likely outcomes that players are hoping HoYoverse will avoid: the alternate skins will either be black-and-blue, or they will follow the color scheme of the characters themselves. Both Kirara and Nilou in Genshin Impact have blue as a primary color in their default outfits, which strongly implies that the tradition will continue in Version 4.8. Fans can expect to see an official reveal on July 5, when the Special Program Announcement for Version 4.8 is scheduled to take place.
