Genshin Impact Nahida’s first-ever Banner run just finished, and it’s clear that she’s very popular in the community. Ranking incredibly high on most tier lists online and garnering praise from Genshin Impact content creators, the unassuming Dendro Archon has no doubt made her mark.
This popularity is for a myriad of reasons, from the fact that she’s an Archon to her excellent kit and even her character. In short, Nahida of Genshin Impact has a great playstyle that is supplemented by some interesting lore, which is more than can be said about other playable characters in the game.
Genshin Impact Nahida is an Excellent Dendro Applicator
First and foremost, Nahida is one of, if not the best, Dendro applicator in the game. Being a catalyst user ensures continuous Dendro damage, while both her Elemental Skill and Burst push this even further. That makes her an excellent pick for any player wanting to capitalize on Genshin Impact’s Dendro-based reactions like Bloom or Aggravate.
Combat aside, Nahida also offers some quality-of-life improvements to any player that owns her. For one, her Elemental Skill allows her to collect any harvestable items in view as long as they’re within a certain distance. This makes it easier to acquire any hard-to-reach items. And when used on NPCs, the same Skill also allows the player to read their minds.
Given her viability as a strong support (or even sub-DPS) character, it’s no surprise that so many players opted to pull for her when her Wish Banner came out. Recently, she even broke Genshin Impact’s all-time revenue record, which was originally held by the Raiden Shogun and Kokomi banners. Clearly, she’s a sought-after unit.
Other Reasons Why the Genshin Impact Community Loves Nahida
Though aside from Nahida’s top-tier Genshin Impact kit, the community also has other reasons to love her character. For one, she is the only Archon who was truly able to help the Traveler get more information on their missing twin. That places her a notch above Ei and Zhongli, who couldn’t help, as well as Venti, who had no information to share.
The fact that she plays a part in what is arguably Genshin Impact’s best Archon questline so far also makes it easier for players to take a liking to her character. Her first appearance during the Sabzeruz Festival effectively sets her up as a God of Wisdom who knows much but reveals little. And her latter confrontation with Genshin Impact’s Dottore further cements her strength and intellect as the Dendro Archon. Finally, players are excited to see how she might interact with the Wanderer of Genshin Impact, given what happened after she acquired the Electro Gnosis.
Yet another reason why the community loves Nahida is her infamous Genshin Impact idle animation bug. If the player stands on a ledge as Nahida and enters her idle animation where she gets on a swing, another player can push Nahida off, causing them to hover in the air in a straight line. Some players have even used this exploit to get to the region of Inazuma before they reach AR 30. It’s an amusing bug that can prove valuable for exploration, at least until HoYoverse decides to patch it.
Overall, Nahida is one of the most well-rounded playable characters, considering her kit, her backstory, as well as her participation in the main campaign. Her idle animation bug is just the icing on the cake. Plus, given that Dendro reactions are currently popular, she’s likely to remain in the Genshin Impact meta for many updates to come.
