The Morgana team composition is a popular team comp in Genshin Impact. Most people believe that the name is derived from a League of Legends character, Morgana, while some others see it befitting as the abbreviation of Mona, Ganyu, and Diona, all of whom are potential characters in this team comp.

Ever since the Morgana team comp became popular, it quickly climbed its way to the top of the Genshin Impact meta. For players who are trying to catch up with the Morgana team comp in Genshin Impact, here's a summary of what they need to know.

Morgana Team Composition Characters

Ayato Ganyu Ayaka Venti and Diona from Genshin Impact

The Morgana team comp in Genshin Impact has a specific combination of characters. Originally, it consisted of Ganyu, Mona, Venti, and Diona. But with the expanding roster of characters, the Morgana team comp now has several versions. Nevertheless, they always include a Cryo DPS, a Hydro enabler, and an Anemo character. Here are some examples of characters for the Morgana team comp in Genshin Impact, and the roles they can play.

Cryo DPS

Ganyu with Amos' Bow
  • Ganyu
  • Kamisato Ayaka

Before Kamisato Ayaka was released, Ganyu was the only option for the Cryo DPS. The Cryo archer is still arguably the better choice, but considering how well Ayaka has been doing in the Genshin Impact meta, players who do not own Ganyu can definitely opt for the Shirasagi Himegimi.

Hydro Enabler

  • Sangonomiya Kokomi
  • Kamisato Ayato

For the Hydro enabler, Mona is the best option thanks to her Ultimate. Mona's Elemental Burst applies Omen on the enemy, a debuff that causes them to take more damage from the players' characters. Usually, this effect will pop and disappear after the first hit, but if the enemy is frozen, the Omen will persist, allowing players to continuously amplify their damage.

If players don't have Mona, they can use Genshin Impact Sangonomiya Kokomi or Kamisato Ayato as an alternative. Those who opt for Kokomi can further ensure the survivability of their team.

Anemo Swirl

Genshin Impact character Venti
  • Venti
  • Sucrose
  • Kaedehara Kazuha

Even though his viability has been greatly reduced, Genshin Impact's Venti is still the top-tier option for the Morgana team comp. Kazuha is also an excellent choice for this role. But for those who don't own the premium units, Sucrose is highly viable as well.

Flexible +1

  • Diona
  • Shenhe
  • Rosaria

The final slot in the party is usually filled with another Cryo character. This allows the Cryo DPS to fully benefit from the Cryo Resonance. If combined with 4-Blizzard Strayers, the character will gain a free +55% Critical Rate.

Diona was the original option for the final slot. Even though the Morgana team comp is generally very safe, Diona can provide more safety if things ever go wrong. However, if the team uses Sangonomiya Kokomi, then Travelers should not include Diona in the party.

Shenhe may be extremely niche, but she works perfectly in the Morgana team comp. Players who have Shenhe should definitely consider including her in the team. Alternatively, players can also use Rosaria for the final slot.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
