A new Genshin Impact leak shows a video of the upcoming five-star character Lyney in a Pyro team composition. The game has a specific combat system that allows players to include up to four different characters whose elements can be combined in order to trigger different elemental reactions.

Genshin Impact's team compositions usually include one main DPS, a sub-DPS, and two supports that provide damage buffs, heals, or shields. Even though the second banner cycle for 3.8 is still a couple of weeks away, the game's official social media accounts have already confirmed which new characters will join the playable roster in update 4.0.

One of these new characters is the five-star Pyro bow user Lyney who has been mentioned in numerous rumors since 2020. A new post by a Twitter user named timing1337 shows how well Lyney functions in a Pyro party. While previous beta leaks revealed most of his kit, this is the first time players get to see Lyney in an actual combat environment. The party features three Pyro units, Lyney, Xiangling, and Bennett, and an Anemo support, Kaedehara Kazuha. The player has used almost all the abilities from the supporting cast before entering the DPS rotation with Lyney. Some fans have pointed out that activating all of these mechanics takes a lot of time which made Bennet's Fantastic Voyage field run out even before Lyney started shooting arrows.

Lyney's kit revolves around his special Charged Attack which has an additional effect if players extend the charging time. His Charged Attack can spawn a Grin-Malkin Hat which will taunt nearby enemies allowing Lyney to keep a safe distance. Some players have pointed out that he has the potential to become the best Pyro DPS character in the game alongside the polearm user Hu Tao.

It should be noted that the damage numbers in the video are not credible since the footage was probably taken from a private server. However, the leak gives great insight into how Lyney's DPS rotation might look within most team compositions in Genshin Impact.

The most iconic part of Lyney's skills is probably his Elemental Burst, Miracle Parade, which turns him into a large hat that jumps around and deals tons of AoE Pyro damage. Lyney won't be the only new character in Genshin Impact update 4.0 as HoYoverse also confirmed two new four-star units named Lynette and Freminet.

Genshin Impact is available for PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
