A Genshin Impact leak reveals more details about the release of a new five-star character named Lyney who has been rumored to arrive in the upcoming Fontaine region. Lyney is one of the few characters whose appearance was revealed in one of the game's first story teasers way back in 2020.

With the release of a new major region in Genshin Impact being just around the corner, fans can expect a lot of new faces to join the playable roster. Going by HoYoverse's usual update schedule, Travelers can expect Fontaine to arrive in the second half of August.

A new Genshin Impact leak has addressed previous rumors about Lyney's potential appearance on the less popular Standard Character Banner. Unlike the limited banner, this one is permanent and features seven different characters that can be obtained by spending Acquaint Fates. The first Sumeru update introduced the Dendro character Tignari, who joined the Standard Banner once version 3.0 ended. This led many players to believe that the first Fontaine update will also feature a new character who will end up on the Standard Banner. However, a new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has claimed that Lyney will only be featured on the Limited Character Banner.

Previous rumors have been hinting that Lyney will be a Pyro bow character whose damage numbers are similar to Tignhnari and Ganyu. His last constellation level will have a significant impact on his overall playstyle. His sister Lynette will be an Anemo character who can summon different Anemo spirits that stay on the field for 10 seconds even if she gets taken off the field.

Players can expect both of these characters to arrive in the first Fontaine update. Another character who has been officially introduced in the recent 3.7 live stream event is Charlotte. While HoYoverse did not reveal a lot of additional information about this character, recent Genshin Impact leaks have given fans an idea of what to expect.

Travelers will probably have to wait at least until update 4.1 to add the long-awaited Hydro Archon Focalors to their roster. HoYoverse has a pattern of featuring new Archons on the Limited Character Banner in one or two updates after a new major region arrives. According to various rumors, Focalors' kit will allow her to affect gravity which could allow some unique interactions within certain team compositions.

Genshin Impact is available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
