A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more information about a new character named Wriothesley who is expected to arrive in the upcoming updates. Over the last couple of months, numerous leaks have been hinting at all the new content that will arrive alongside the new major region which is confirmed to be Fontaine.

The game's most recent Special Program live stream event included an interesting teaser at the end showing one of the main characters, Aether, diving underwater. This got many Genshin Impact players excited considering that diving will be a new mechanic in the game and a large part of the world of Teyvat is covered with water.

A popular Genshin Impact leaker has revealed the concept art for an upcoming character named Wriothesley who is expected to arrive in the Fontaine region. This character has been mentioned on multiple occasions over the last couple of months, and he will most likely join the playable roster in the second or third Fontaine update. The overall design seems very reminiscent of a character named Sampo who belongs to the Honkai: Star Rail universe. This would not be the first time that Genshin Impact takes inspiration for their character concepts from the world of Honkai, HoYoverse's second most popular franchise.

When it comes to his element, previous leaks have been hinting that Wriothesley will probably be a Cryo character and there are currently no credible leaks about his weapon type. However, some fans suspect that based on his design, HoYoverse could equip him with a Pyro vision. Credible leakers have also been hinting that Wriothesley could join the Standard Banner once his Limited Character Banner expires.

This does not come as a surprise considering that the first five-star character featured in the Sumeru update, the Dendro bow user Tighnari, went through the same process of becoming a member of the Standard Banner once version 3.0 ended. When it comes to his exact release date, players don't expect him to be featured in version 4.0 as previous leaks revealed that this update will feature the long-awaited Lyney as the only new five-star character.

He will apparently be joined by his sister Lynette and another mysterious four-star character whose identity is still unknown. There is a chance that Wriothesley arrives on the same update as the famous Hydro Archon Focalors who expected to become a playable character in the first couple of Fontaine updates.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
