A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more details about a new Fontaine character and a TCG event that will arrive in the upcoming updates. So far, the explorable parts of Teyvat consist of four major regions, Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and the recently added Sumeru nation.

This means that Genshin Impact is yet to introduce three major regions, with Fontaine rumored to be the next one in line. The addition of every new main nation is usually the main annual event in the game since besides the explorable terrain, it also includes new characters and weapons.

A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit reveals more information about the content that could arrive in update 3.7. According to the post, the quests in update 3.7 will feature a new character, a Fontaine journalist that will join the playable roster in the future. At the moment, there is not a lot of official information about Fontaine other than the fact that it's known as the Hydro nation. Players expect it to be filled with multiple lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Even one of the earliest Genshin Impact leaks of Fontaine reveals that its main city is attached to a vertical platform, surrounded by waterfalls. However, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt considering that it was taken from the game's original beta phase.

A couple of weeks ago, a leak revealed the models of 10 new Fontaine characters that will make an appearance in the next Archon Chapter. However, credible leakers like mero_impact have clarified that some of these characters are tied to Mondstadt which led many players to believe that this region could receive its first expansion since 2020. The Anemo nation is yet to introduce some of its most popular characters like the legendary Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonious known as Varka who's currently away on an important expedition.

The post also mentions a new Genius Invocation event that will feature the game's first Archon TCG cards. Genshin Impact Archons are extremely powerful characters who watch over the seven major regions, which means that the new cards could impact the current TCG meta.

Update 3.7 could revolve around this event since there are no leaks about the main storyline and fans expect versions 3.7 and 3.8 to serve as filler patches before Fontaine's official arrival in 4.0. Going by HoYoverse's previous pattern of releasing new major regions, Genshin Impact update 4.0 should arrive at the end of August 2023.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and a Switch port is also in development.
