A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more information about the Mondstadt expansion that will arrive in the upcoming months. So far the game has introduced four major regions: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and the most recently added Sumeru nation. Each region in the game has a representative element and an Archon that serves as its main protector.
Mondstadt was the first region to arrive to Genshin Impact back in September 2020. It's the place where every Traveler starts their journey through the vast world of Teyvat. Despite feeling somewhat outdated compared to other nations, Mondstadt remains the favorite region for a big number of players.
Over the last couple of months, numerous leaks have been hinting that the Anemo region will receive an expansion to the north in the future. Previous rumors also claimed that the current version of Mondstadt only represents 60% of the whole region which means that a lot of explorable terrain is yet to be added. However, a new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit claims that the expansion won't be as big as a lot of players might have expected. The leak also revealed that the new part of Mondstadt will border with Snezhnaya. Out of all seven regions, Snezhnaya is expected to be the last one to arrive, at least according to one of the game's earliest story trailers.
Snezhnaya is the home of the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa who is expected to be Some Genshin Impact players have also noticed an interesting map detail about the main city of Mondstadt. According to this theory, the City of Freedom could also include some additional hidden ruins that can be found underwater since the whole island is surrounded by a darker color on the map.
The new part of Mondstadt could also include a port which was mentioned in one of Venti's voice lines. Its location is rumored to be far away from the main city which means that it could be connecting Mondstadt with Snezhnaya. Fans hope that the new map expansion could finally introduce Varka, the legendary Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonious who's currently away on an important expedition.
Klee's mother Alice, who has been mentioned in several quest lines, is another famous character that could make an appearance in the upcoming months. She's rumored to be one of the most powerful mages who's responsible for arranging Golden Apple Archipelago, the game's annual Summer event.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
