Highlights

  • Leaked artifact sets Bond of Life and Burning Reaction cater to upcoming characters, offering unique bonuses for optimized builds.
  • The new artifact sets in Genshin Impact 4.6 hint at upcoming Dendro character and improve team-building power.
  • Quality-of-life changes streamline artifact farming process, enhancing player experience in managing inventory.

Genshin Impact is bringing two new Artifacts Sets in Version 4.6, and one of them seems to hint towards an upcoming Dendro character. Though not all ability kits are created equal in Genshin Impact and sometimes 5-stars such as Alhaitham and Neuvillette emerge on top of the meta, artifacts are arguably the main source of power for a Genshin Impact character. Artifact Sets such as Viridescent Venerer and Emblem of Severed Fate have long been a mainstay when it comes to team-building in Genshin Impact, but Fontaine and Sumeru brought a fair few heavy hitters as well.

Given the emphasis on artifact farming, multiple quality-of-life changes in Genshin Impact have recently attempted to streamline the process of both obtaining artifacts and managing a player's inventory. Better filters, custom loadouts, and a more convenient leveling system have all been introduced during the Fontaine patch cycle. Though luck still plays the only factor when it comes to obtaining a desired artifact in Genshin Impact, the means through which players can target specific sets has improved.

The new artifacts were shared via Litian on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, and they both seem to be designed with new characters in mind. Given that Arlecchino will debut in Genshin Impact Version 4.6, one of the Artifact Sets is tailor-made for her unique ability kit. The other set appears to buff the Burning reaction for Dendro, and given that no Dendro characters have yet been made to specialize in Burning, it's highly probable that the set is intended for Emilie, a rumored Fontaine character expected to release in Version 4.8.

Genshin Impact Version 4.6 Artifacts

Bond of Life Artifact Set

  • 2p: ATK +18%
  • 4p: Increases damage dealt by 18% when the value of the Bond of Life contract is increased or decreased for 6 seconds. The effect can be stacked up to three times. It is unknown if the effect can be triggered when the character is off-field.

Burning Reaction Artifact Set

  • 2p: ATK +18%
  • 4p: Increases damage dealt by 50% after 3 seconds of combat have passed. If there is no Burning enemy for 6 seconds, the damage bonus decreases by 10% per second. When a Burning enemy is present, the bonus increases by 10% per second up to 50%. The effect can also be activated when the character is off-field.

Though only Arlecchino makes use of the Bond of Life mechanic on an intrinsic level, the Fontaine crafted weapons in Genshin Impact enable it for other characters as well. It remains to be seen just how powerful the artifact bonus is in combination with the weapons, but it will almost certainly be the best option for mainstream Arlecchino builds. On the other hand, the second set effectively turns Burning into a version of Superconduct, buffing a character's damage up to 50% as opposed to buffing the reaction itself.

While Emilie is rumored to be a 5-star Dendro character, it's quite possible that the new artifact set is also intended for future Natlan characters in Genshin Impact, such as Xbalanque or even the Pyro Archon. Given that Arlecchino's final ability kit is no longer tied to Overload, HoYoverse could be saving the underrepresented Pyro reactions for Version 5.0 and beyond.
