Developer miHoYo has officially confirmed the arrival of a very popular Genshin Impact character, the long-awaited Kamisato Ayato. Even though he was previously romored to be released alongside Yae Miko in update 2.5, it seems like he was moved for the next update.

Recent Genshin Impact leaks have revealed a lot of new information about the new Hydro sword user. He will apparently be a very offensive character with a strong focus on Normal attacks, especially since his ascension stat is Crit Rate.

Each Genshin Impact update has its beta phase, which goes live a couple of weeks before the update officially arrives. A recent leak on the popular Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has revealed more information about the new Genshin Impact Hydro character. Apparently, Ayato has received multiple buffs, especially to his Elemental Burst. Fans seemed happy with his numbers even before these buffs arrived, and these changes could make him one of the strongest Genshin Impact characters in the game.

The fact that Ayato is also confirmed to be a Hydro character means that he will most likely have great synergy with his sister Ayaka, who is one of the most unique Genshin Impact characters. Just like his sister, Ayato's official art shows him wielding a sword, which would make him the second Hydro sword character after Xingqiu who will soon be available for free. When it comes to Ayato's release date, another Genshin Impact leaker has revealed that he could appear on the first banner for update 2.6, which, according to miHoYo's usual update schedule, will arrive around April 10, 2022.

Multiple leaks and rumors are predicting Venti and Kazuha for update 2.6. Even though Kazuha was not well received in the Genshin Impact community at first, he turned out to be one of, if not the strongest support character in Genshin Impact. He was usually considered as a sligthly weaker version of Venti because they have a similar kit, but the Archon seemed much better at the time. However, most players didn't pay much attention to his potential to increase damage for his party members, which is much more useful against stronger opponents.

Kamisato Ayato was previously rumored to be released alongside another Anemo four-star character named Shikanoin Heizou. There is still not much information about Heizou other than that he's a popular detective from Inazuma. He often gives the impression that he puts his own priorities over duties which makes him disliked by his superiors.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
