As Genshin Impact approaches the final two patches of Fontaine, more details about Natlan and the Summer Event for 2024 have started to emerge. With Version 4.6 introducing the ruins of Remuria and the Sea of Bygone Eras, Genshin Impact won't be seeing a new map expansion until the launch of Natlan in August 2024. That being said, Version 4.7 will introduce three new playable characters, and Version 4.8 will have a temporary zone themed around its Flagship Event.

The Event Banners for Version 4.7 in Genshin Impact will feature Clorinde and Alhaitham in the first half, while Sigewinne and Furina will headline the second half of the patch. It is expected that Version 4.8 won't have any new 5-Star characters, which means that Genshin Impact players are hoping Wriothesley and Navia will host their first rerun. While Wriothesley is a strong possibility due to his special appearance in the upcoming Imaginarium Theater, recent information heavily supports Navia as being one of the featured characters on the Event Banners in Version 4.8.

Shared by hxg_diluc, one of the oldest and most reliable Genshin Impact sources, rumors about Version 4.8 state that the Summer Event will be themed around the Hexenzirkel once again – this time inspired by fairy tales. Genshin Impact characters that will play a notable role in Version 4.8 will be Navia, Nilou, Wanderer, Kirara, and Durin, the ancient dragon that once threatened Mondstadt. More importantly, players will be able to ride Durin in preparation for the mount system coming to Genshin Impact in Natlan.

Genshin Impact Players May Be Able to Ride Dragons in Natlan

As teased by Neuvillette during the Archon Quests in Version 4.2, Natlan in Genshin Impact will feature two narrative themes: war and dragons. The Pyro Archon and Dragon Sovereign of Natlan will both be noteworthy characters in the upcoming Region, which will be accessible via the western edges of the Sumeru Desert. The recent leak mentions that dragon riding will be the main exploration feature in Natlan, and also explains that Xbalanque, the Dragon Sovereign, will use a medium male model with tanned skin and either red or white hair.

It won't be long until players get their first glimpse of Version 4.8, as beta testing is expected to commence on June 5, 2024. The next set of character outfits in Genshin Impact is also expected to debut in Version 4.8, and previous leaks concerning the topic align with the rumored fairy tale theme of the Summer Event.
