A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more details about the upcoming Fontaine region which is expected to arrive in the next major update. The world of Teyvat consists of seven different nations, each of which features an Archon and its divine ideals. So far, developer HoYoverse has introduced four of these seven major regions: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru.

With the whole Sumeru Archon chapter slowly coming to an end, it's time for Genshin Impact players to step into another main nation. One of the game's earliest story teasers has confirmed that the Hydro nation named Fontaine will be the fifth region to arrive to the game.

Over the last couple of months, numerous rumors have been giving more information about the content that will arrive alongside the Hydro nation. One of the most popular Genshin Impact leakers named HutaoLover77 has posted another leak giving additional information about Fontaine. According to their recent leak, Fontaine will have a twin city structure which is unusual for HoYoverse's approach to world design since the four current regions only have one main city. These two cities will be in conflict and their design is inspired by two popular European capitals, London and Paris. Every region in the game is based on a real-life location, and it seems like Genshin Impact will follow a similar pattern with Fontaine.

The leak also confirmed that the design of the two cities will be inspired by two interesting themes, steampunk, and technology. Many fans in the comment section claim that they are excited to see the Traveler's role between the two cities and if the main goal will be to resolve this conflict. Players are also thrilled about a new diving mechanic that was teased at the end of the recently held Special Program event for Genshin Impact version 3.7.

When it comes to playable characters, a couple of credible leaks have been hinting that the first Fontaine update will introduce the famous sibling duo, Lyney and Lynette who appeared in one of the story teasers back in 2020. Lyney is rumored to be a new five-star Pyro character who's primary role is main DPS while Lynette is expected to be a four-star Anemo character.

They will apparently be joined by another four-star Genshin Impact character who will appear in the same update. While HoYoverse is yet to officially confirm Fontaine's official release date, going by the pattern of the game's previous region releases, players can expect Fontaine to drop in the second half of August.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
