There are many great 4-star characters in Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, many of their best kits are hidden behind their Constellations. For example, Bennett is completely usable at C0, but he needs his first Constellation to be able to function properly.

Luckily, Kuki Shinobu doesn’t really suffer from this problem. Of course, some of her Constellations can help her become a better support, but players can happily use her even at zero Constellation.

Are Kuki Shinobu’s Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact - Kuki Shinobu

For Kuki Shinobu to perform her best, players should aim for at least her second Genshin Impact Constellation. Her C4 is also decent if she’s included in a reaction team.

C1 - To Cloister Compassion

  • Effect: Elemental Burst’s AoE is increased by 50%.
  • Importance: Low

C1 Kuki Shinobu’s passive grants her a bigger AoE on her Elemental Burst. Considering that she operates as a healer and needs Elemental Mastery and Healing Bonus instead of Critical and Electro DMG, her first Constellation doesn’t really add anything to her kit.

Of course, like any Genshin Impact character, players can build her as a DPS. However, since many other units can outperform her, it is best to keep her as a healer.

C2 - To Forsake Fortune

  • Effect: Elemental Skill’s duration is increased by 3s.
  • Importance: Priority

Kuki Shinobu’s second Constellation in Genshin Impact allows her Elemental Skill to maintain 100% uptime. With it, Shinobu can endlessly heal and apply Electro off-field, making her a great healer and enabler.

C4 - To Sever Sealing

  • Effect: When the Normal. Charged, or Plunging Attacks of the character affected by Shinobu’s Elemental Skill hit opponents, a Thundergrass Mark will land on the opponent’s position and deal AoE Electro DMG based on 9.7% of Shinobu’s Max HP. This effect can occur once every 5s.
  • Importance: High

The damage bonus from this Constellation is rather negligible, but what makes it good is the fact that this effect has a separate Internal Cooldown for Elemental Reactions. So if players are building Kuki Shinobu on Elemental Mastery, they can trigger more Reactions, thus increasing her overall damage.

C6 - To Ward Weakness

  • Effect: When Kuki Shinobu Shinobu takes lethal DMG, this instance of DMG will not take her down. This effect will automatically trigger when her HP reaches 1 and will trigger once every 60s. Additionally, when Shinobu’s HP drops below 25%, she will gain 150 Elemental Mastery for 15s. This effect will trigger once every 60s.
  • Importance: Medium

The first part of Kuki Shinobu’s sixth Constellation is completely negligible. Shinobu won’t take any field time from her teammates, especially after unlocking her C2 passive, so having protection against lethal DMG is not really needed. Furthermore, she gets no invincible period from this Constellation. So if the enemy is attacking with a multi-hit attack, then Kuki will die immediately after this effect is triggered.

On the other hand, she gets 150 Elemental Mastery from the second part of her C6 effect. While to a certain point Elemental Mastery stats help Kuki, it’s still not worth being the last Constellation she unlocks.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
