Genshin Impact is a game with a huge range of diverse characters, each interesting and lovable in their own way. That being said, Klee is one of Genshin Impact’s most popular playable characters because of her cute personality and her penchant for destruction, which endears old players and new alike to her.
For many players, Klee’s story quest only adds to her charm, especially after pulling on her banners. Her story quest, also known as the Trifolium Chapter, can be unlocked with a story key after reaching AR32. The player must also have completed Diluc’s story quest, the Noctua Chapter, and Razor’s story quest, the Lupus Minor Chapter.
Though receive quest markers appear during the story quest to guide the player, for a walkthrough of exactly how to tackle each quest during the story, read on.
Who Is Mondstadt's Strongest Fighter?
The first quest in Klee’s story requires the player to wait until nighttime for the quest to begin. If needs be, the in-game time can be changed from the main menu; nighttime begins in-game at around 7 PM, so switching to that time is a certain way to prompt the quest to begin.
After changing the time to nighttime, find Patton in Mondstadt and speak to him about the topic of Mondstadt’s strongest fighter. After speaking to Patton, head over to Angel’s Share and speak to several of the patrons within about who they consider the strongest fighter. The exact characters the player needs to speak to are Charles, Jack, Bruce, and Six-Fingered José.
The next step, discussing what the Traveler has discovered with Paimon, happens automatically. After Paimon and the player talk about what they’ve just heard, the next step is to move to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. Go inside, find Jean, and ask her about the strongest fighter in Mondstadt, too. She’ll let the player know about the Abyss Order and how they’ve been lurking around Mondstadt and will ask the Traveler to investigate further.
The final step after speaking to Jean is to simply leave the office inside the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. After leaving, an automatic cutscene will start, and the player and Paimon will meet Klee for the first time. She’ll let the player know that the treasure she buried has gone missing.
The Mystery of the Girl in Red's Treasure
The first part of Klee’s story quest involved wandering around Mondstadt and asking several characters who they considered to be the strongest fighter in the city. The second part is a little more intensive. First, head over to the Whispering Woods, which is found between the city of Mondstadt and Starfell Lake.
Once the player reaches the Whispering Woods, Klee will automatically speak to the player in another short cutscene where the Traveler and Klee find an Abyss Mage lurking. After this cutscene, the player must chase down the Abyss Mage alongside Klee. Make sure the Mage doesn’t move too far away - if he does, the quest will be failed and must be restarted. As the player chases him, there will be several small groups of slime enemies to fight, including Pyro and Electro slimes - make sure there's a character in the party that is able to fight both, and be sure not to run out of stamina.
Once the player has tracked down the Abyss Mage, a nearby rock must be broken. Breaking this rock will reveal a torch that can only be lit by a Pyro character. Diluc, Klee, Yoimiya, and Yanfei are all good options here, though any Pyro character will work.
After lighting the torch with a Pyro character, the player can now enter a story-only domain, aptly named ‘Retrieve the Treasure’. The recommended party level is 30, and Klee will join the party for the domain. If players don’t have Klee, this is a perfect opportunity to try her out; if they do, make sure to leave her out of the party, as this will allow players to use a slightly larger party (consisting of five members instead of the regular four).
After the player has entered the domain, be sure to find the Abyss Mage. Once he's been found, the Traveler attempts to negotiate with him; this negotiation will fail when the Abyss Mage inevitably blows himself up with one of Klee’s bombs. After the cutscene, the player will have defeated the domain and will be able to receive the domain rewards. After leaving the domain, the final part of Klee’s story quest will begin.
A Very Volatile Treasure
The final part of Klee’s story quest is short, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to follow. After finding and defeating the Abyss Mage, the player should make their way back to Mondstadt to meet with Jean again in the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. A cutscene will begin after Klee turns herself in, and it will end with Klee putting herself in solitary confinement.
After speaking to Jean, find the solitary confinement doorway in the main hallway of the Headquarters. From there, the Traveler will be able to speak to Klee one last time. After finding out Klee has made a brand new bomb while in solitary confinement, the quest will end.
